TL;DR: The interferometric fiber-optic gyroscope (FOG) has evolved from pioneering physics experiment to a practical device that is now in production as discussed by the authors, and it is now accepted among inertial guidance and navigation specialists that FOG is strong contender for many civilian and military applications.
Abstract: The interferometric fiber-optic gyroscope (FOG) has evolved from pioneering physics experiment to a practical device that is now in production. Today, it is now accepted among inertial guidance and navigation specialists that FOG is strong contender for many civilian and military applications. The opportunity of commercial production of precision fiber-optical gyroscope is directly determined by the level of technological base and its main components like polarization maintaining optical fibers and integral optic components.

TL;DR: In this article, a gyroscope precessing system is described, where the forces are applied through a system of lever actuated by force motors, such as solenoids, capable of applying large forces.
Abstract: Gyroscope precessing apparatus having a gyroscope mounted external to a gimbal system has gyroscope precessing forces applied to structure adjacent to a combined centre of inertia of the gyroscope and centre of rotation of the gimbal system. The forces are applied through a system of levers actuated by force motors, such as solenoids, capable of applying large forces. The geometry is such that precession of the gyroscope over its full range requires only small relative movements between parts of the force motors.

TL;DR: The segmented data compensation model by using clustering analysis method can compensate the gyro bias, improve the Gyro accuracy, and the model of full temperature data compensation method is incomplete.
Abstract: The temperature characteristic of mechanically dithered ring laser gyroscope (RLG) has been studied, based on temperature experiment. Using the method of clustering, analyzed the output of the temperature sensor. Finally, the segmented data was compensated, and the result was compared with that of full temperature data compensation. The results show that: the model of full temperature data compensation method is incomplete. There is still much room for improvement. In this paper, the segmented data compensation model by using clustering analysis method can compensate the gyro bias, improve the gyro accuracy.

24 Sep 2021TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of dithering on the LZ was investigated by modeling the LG operation equation and a measuring stand that reduces the effect of the lock-in zone at low angular velocities was developed.
Abstract: Gyroscope with lasers implementation is an important field of study with great potential. An integrating rate gyroscope is called a laser gyroscope (LG). The interference occurs in the form of a lock-in zone (LZ) during the operation of the LG, which leads to insensitivity at low rotation speeds, e.g. a ship, a submarine, where the speed is less than the threshold. In this case, the LG is practically useless in the rotational speed determination. The impact of dithering on the LZ was investigated by modeling the LG operation equation and a measuring stand that reduces the effect of the LZ at low angular velocities was developed.
