TL;DR: In this paper, the surface to be worked of the work is machined to be recessed at the center by lapping, and then the projecting parts at both end parts are burnished by the burnishing roller.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller burnishing method and burnishing device, obtaining a desired surface roughness, and heightening the durability and working performance. SOLUTION: In this roller burnishing method and device for finishing with a burnishing roller 3 pressed to a work 4 having a surface to be worked circular-arc in section, the surface to be worked of the work W is machined to be recessed at the center Wa by lapping, and then the projecting parts Wb at both end parts are burnished by the burnishing roller 3. TL;DR: In this paper, a rolling bearing member consisting of low-purity steel including large grains of grain size of 30 μm or more was used to restrict generation of peeling starting from an inner part due to non-metal matter included even when low purity steel including a large grain of non metal matter is used.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict generation of peeling starting from an inner part due to non-metal matter included even when low purity steel including large grains of non-metal matter is used. SOLUTION: This rolling bearing member comprises low-purity steel including large grains of grain size of 30 μm or more. The non-metal matter 2b existing in a surface layer part of a rolling surface 1c of the rolling bearing member is crushed by roller burnishing work to be granulated to have maximum grain size of 20 μm or so. Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of burnishing feed and roller contact width on the sliding friction and wear performance of acetal homopolymer and polyurethane was investigated, and the results revealed that low burning feed rate and smaller contact width led to a decrease in coefficient of friction for both polymers while improvement in the wear resistance was observed.
Abstract: The increasing utilization of polymers in sliding members has triggered much research on the enhancement of surface quality and tribological performance. In this regard, no work has considered the application of roller burnishing as a new surface treatment method for polymeric surfaces. The present work aims to investigate the influence of burnishing feed and roller contact width on the sliding friction and wear performance of acetal homopolymer and polyurethane. Dry and lubricated sliding conditions for both parallel and crossed burnished orientations were considered. The results revealed that low burnishing feed rate and smaller roller contact width led to a decrease in coefficient of friction for both polymers while improvement in the wear resistance was observed. Hence, it can be suggested that the roller burnishing process has high potential as a valuable polymer surface treatment technique.

TL;DR: In this article, the utility model is used for a roller burnishing knife with a fixed body and a knife sheath, where the sheath is fixed on the body and the body is fixed in a fixed position.
Abstract: The utility model relates to a roller burnishing knife comprising a body and a knife sheath, wherein the knife sheath is fixed on the body. The roller burnishing knife is characterized in that: a body side hole penetrating a body inner hole is arranged on the body; a sliding column is arranged in the body side hole; a roller is arranged in an open slot of the sliding column; a fixing pin respectively penetrates a sliding column side hole on the sliding column and a roller inner hole on the roller; an adjusting screw is arranged in a screwed hole at the upper end of the sliding column; and a floating screw is inserted into an adjusting screw slot after being screwed in the body. The roller burnishing knife provided by the utility model has the advantages that: a larger-travel adjustment range of part processing diameter can be realized; the fatigue resistance, the corrosion resistance and the surface roughness of the processed part are increased; a traditional grinding process adopted on the processed part can be replaced; and the production efficiency is improved.
