Abstract: For the uniform treatment of bulk material by means of a gas the bulk material is fluidized in a rotating container (101) in order to be mixed by the rotation thereof. In the case of heating the bulk material the rotation of the container is expediently interrupted at periodic intervals. A transport device is preferably provided in the interior of this container, in particular in the form of a worm or screw flight (20) of irregular pitch--related to one rotation in order to be able to precisely determine the dwell time through the mechanical transport. This screw (20) is preferably constructed as a two-start screw (FIG. 6).

Abstract: A system for controlling the orientation of a hanging load, the system comprising a lifting frame ( 20 ) being connectable to a load to be lifted, on which lifting frame two or more flywheel units ( 9 ) are arranged, the flywheel units ( 9 ) each comprising a flywheel ( 10 ) rotary arranged in a gimbal ( 11 ) which again is rotary arranged in a gimbal support ( 15 ) along an axis of rotation ( 6 ) being perpendicular to the axis of rotation ( 8 ) of the flywheel ( 10 ), where an electric motor ( 12 ) is arranged for rotating the flywheel ( 10 ), and a tilting motor ( 13 ) is arranged to tilt the gimbal by rotating the gimbal about its axis of rotation ( 6 ), wherein the system further comprises a control unit for individually controlling the speed and the direction of rotation of the flywheels, and the tilting of the gimbals, the control system being adopted for re-initialization of a flywheel units ( 9 ) either by reducing the speed of rotation fully or partly, tilting the gimbals to a new starting position, and spinning up the flywheels again; or by stopping the flywheels and spinning up the flywheels in the opposite direction.

Abstract: A simple accurate arrangement for determining the instantaneous angular position of a moving object comprises rotation acceleration sensors located in reference axes of the article. Because of the double integration, the low-frequency static angular signal obtained is not reliable so that a device for measuring the static angle is used which supplies these values accurately, it is true, but which is not reliable in high-frequency respects. A correct angular signal is obtained by filter circuits and mixing. A piezoelectric element is used in the rotation acceleration sensor, while the device for measuring the static angle is an electrolytic levelling instrument. Use in vehicle navigation (Figure 3).

The electromagnetic field may be produced by a primary coil, which inductively couples with one or more secondary coils located within a portable device. The relative strength of this inductive coupling may be used to determine the position, rotation, or both of the portable device relative to the primary coil.
