TL;DR: In this paper, a method and apparatus for nonvolatile overspeed protection of a wind turbine rotor during a power outage is described. Butterfly rotational speed safety during power outage was not considered.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for non-volatile overspeed protection is described. The present invention provides a method and apparatus for non-volatile overspeed detection to provide turbine rotational speed safety during a power outage. In one embodiment, aerodynamic braking is used to slow rotation of a rotor of the wind turbine. If an overspeed condition continues after application of aerodynamic braking, mechanical braking is used to reduce the rotational speed of the rotor. Power is supplied by a non-volatile power source to continue overspeed detection during a power outage. A low-pressure trigger valve is used to apply a mechanical brake when hydraulic pressure in the braking system falls below a predetermined threshold.

TL;DR: In this article, a rotational speed of a first roller and a time required for a second roller to make one rotation are measured, and a controller corrects measured speed of the first roller based on the amplitude and the phase.
Abstract: A rotational speed of a first roller and a time required for a second roller to make one rotation are measured. A controller calculates an amplitude and a phase of fluctuation in a rotational speed in one rotation period of the first roller while the first roller is rotated by a predefined angle based on the speed and the time. The controller corrects measured speed of the first roller based on the amplitude and the phase, and controls a driving roller based on corrected speed.

TL;DR: In this paper, an apparatus was developed for producing an atomic beam of potassium in the energy range of 0.2 to 45 eV (1000-15 000 m/sec).
Abstract: An apparatus has been developed for producing an atomic beam of potassium in the energy range of 0.2 to 45 eV (1000–15 000 m/sec). The technique used here is cathode sputtering. With a velocity selector (spread, 6.7%; maximum rotational speed, 48 000 rpm), both the signal of a Pt‐W detector and an energy independent one are measured as a function of the velocity of the beam particles.
