TL;DR: METHANOL extracts of immature seeds of Pisum sativum exhibited fairly strong auxin-like activity when assayed by hypocotyl swelling of Phaseolus mungo, and an active principle from the neutral fraction was identified as methyl 4-chloroindolyl-3-acetate by synthesis.
Abstract: METHANOL extracts of immature seeds of Pisum sativum exhibited fairly strong auxin-like activity when assayed by hypocotyl swelling of Phaseolus mungo1. We isolated an active principle from the neutral fraction of immature seeds2; it was identified as methyl 4-chloroindolyl-3-acetate by synthesis. Preliminary examination showed that its auxin activity against Avena first internode and section tests was comparable with that of methyl indolyl-3-acetate while its activity was stronger against the hypocotyl swelling test of Phaseolus mungo. Gandar and Nitsch3 independently isolated the same auxin from the same immature seeds, and found it to be a methyl ester of chlorine containing indolyl-3-acetic acid.

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel Auxin, Methyl 4-Chloroindoleacetate from immature seeds of Pisum sativum is described. But this is not the case in this paper.

TL;DR: Changes in soluble protein and in peroxidase, esterase, and amylase enzymes during development of the pea plant have been investigated using a horizontal method of acrylamide gel electrophoresis.
Abstract: Changes in soluble protein and in peroxidase, esterase, and amylase enzymes during development of the pea plant (P. sativum) have been investigated using a horizontal method of acrylamide gel electrophoresis. Both qualitative and quantitative variation between organs at different stages of physiological development are recorded.

TL;DR: Six pea cultivars and their F1 and F2 progenies were assessed for resistance to pea leaf-roll (top-yellows) virus infection under natural epidemic conditions, and no hybrid combination exhibited high economic value for all characters.
Abstract: Six pea cultivars and their F1 and F2 progenies were assessed for resistance to pea leaf-roll (top-yellows) virus infection under natural epidemic conditions. Two cultivars were highly resistant, two moderately resistant, and two highly susceptible; all F1 and the majority of F2 hybrids between any two cultivars showed a lower mean resistance than the better of the two parents. Resistance to infection was controlled by an additive system of inheritance, with “moderate” resistance being dominant to both susceptibility and high resistance. The effect of disease on components of yield was also shown to be inherited in a quantitative manner, but no hybrid combination exhibited high economic value for all characters. The effect of top-yellows infection on yield in the New Zealand pea experiment was similar to that on infected field beans in England.

TL;DR: On germination the free amino acid content of the plants increased, while the total amount of amino acid decreased, and most of the essential amino acids were shown to be present in the plants.
Abstract: The free and bound amino acid contents of soaked seeds and 7- and 14-day old seedlings of Pisum sativum, Phaseolus vulgaris and Canavalia eniformis were determined. It was found that on germination the free amino acid content of the plants increased, while the total amount of amino acid decreased. Most of the essential amino acids were shown to be present in the plants.
