TL;DR: It is shown that these frequency-domain receivers can compensate the Doppler effects associated to different multipath components while performing the equalization procedure, and are suitable for SC-FDE broadband transmission in the presence of fastvarying channels.
Abstract: Conventional frequency-domain receivers require an invariant channel within the block duration and the performance is severely affected in presence of strong Doppler effects. In this paper we propose an iterative receiver for SC-FDE (Single-Carrier with Frequency Domain Equalization) schemes able to attenuate the impact of strong Doppler effects. It is shown that these frequency-domain receivers can compensate the Doppler effects associated to different multipath components while performing the equalization procedure. Our performance results show that the proposed receivers have good performance, even when the Doppler drifts are not identical for different multipath components (in fact, we can even cope with drifts that are substantially). Therefore, our receivers are suitable for SC-FDE broadband transmission in the presence of fastvarying channels.

TL;DR: This paper takes a study on a dual-mode (DD-LMS+MCMA) blind equalization algorithm applied in a single-carrier system and builds the simulation model of image transmission in SC-FDE system and gets the direct and better result through the comparative analysis of image.
Abstract: The traditional equalization technologies expose some shortages while people put forward higher demand to quality of communication system and transmission rate. Single-carrier frequency-domain equalization SC-FDE is becoming a research hotspot in wideband wireless communication area because of its special predominance. In recent years, the research on SC-FDE develops quickly. We take a study on feasibility of building SC-FDE system by comparing performance with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing. This paper takes a study on a dual-mode direct decision-least mean square+modify constant modulus algorithm blind equalization algorithm applied in a single-carrier system. And then, we build the simulation model of image transmission in SC-FDE system and get the direct and better result through the comparative analysis of image. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

TL;DR: This paper considers the use of clustered techniques to simplify the detection procedure and to reduce the side information that must be transmitted by the backhaul network and shows that the signal processing complexity and the required side information can be reduced without sacrificing the performance.
Abstract: By reducing the frequency reuse one can increase substantially the spectral efficiency of cellular systems. On the other hand, complex transmission/detection schemes are required to cope with the inherently high interference. This paper deals with the uplink transmission in cellular systems with universal frequency reuse and SC-FDE (Single-Carrier with Frequency-Domain Equalization) transmission schemes. We consider the use of clustered techniques to simplify the detection procedure and to reduce the side information that must be transmitted by the backhaul network. Our performance results show that we can reduce substantially the signal processing complexity and the required side information without sacrificing the performance.

TL;DR: This paper considers the use of Single Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization (SC-FDE) scheme in Single Frequency Network (SFN) broadcasting systems and proposes a set of receiver structures which are able to compensate the variations of the equivalent channel.
Abstract: In this paper we consider the use of Single Carrier Frequency-Domain Equalization (SC-FDE) scheme in Single Frequency Network (SFN) broadcasting systems, with the objective of studying the impact of distinct Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO) between the local oscillator at each transmitter and the local oscillator at the receiver. We consider a specific scenario in order to propose an efficient method for estimating the channel frequency response and CFO associated to each transmitter. We also propose a set of receiver structures which are able to compensate the variations of the equivalent channel. The performance results show that we can have excellent performance, even when the considered transmissions have substantially different CFOs.

TL;DR: The overall system features constant envelope transmit signals, which are immune to the non-linearity of the power amplifiers, a high spectral efficiency and a low complex equalization process at the receiver for multiuser environments.
Abstract: Single carrier transmission with a frequency domain equalization (SCFDE) is combined to a MIMO system and extended to multiuser techniques in CDMA. We also compare the overall system in terms of modulation format, such as constant phase modulations. The overall system features constant envelope transmit signals, which are immune to the non-linearity of the power amplifiers, a high spectral efficiency and a low complex equalization process at the receiver for multiuser environments. After a description of the concepts we show simulation results for SCFDE adapted to the MIMO-extended UMTS-TDD down link
