Abstract: Severe multi-path effects in the process of high-speed data transmission cause inter-symbol interference (ISI). The single carrier frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) method combining the benefits of Feher-patented quadrature phase shift keying (FQPSK) modulation is raised to solve this problem, including the constant envelope, high spectrum efficiency, and insensitivity to nonlinear distortion. Furthermore, a fractionally spaced frequency domain equalization (FS-FDE) system based on FQPSK modulation is modeled based on the proposed algorithm. Simulation results confirm the superior performance of the proposed model on erasing ISI, comparing to the symbol-spaced FDE (SS-FDE) system based on FQPSK modulation and the FS-FDE system based on QPSK modulation.

Abstract: A new kind of equalization scheme of SC-FDE system is proposed in this paper, which uses the distribution differences of residual inter-symbol interference between conventional FDE-NP decision feedback equalization and reversed FDE-NP decision feedback equalization to reduce the residual ISI caused by multipath channel. The feedback coefficients of reversed FDE-NP equalizer are conjugate with that of the conventional FDE-NP equalizer. The simulation results show that this method can improve the detection performance of SC-FDE system in multipath channel.

Abstract: This paper presents the performance of periodic spectrum transmission for single-carrier with frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE) using channel coding So far, we have proposed periodic spectrum transmission and showed the effectiveness of enhancing a frequency diversity benefit compared with the typical case when adopting a low rate transmission such as 1-bit/sample In this paper, the impact of channel coding on the proposed scheme is intensively discussed compared with coded OFDM (COFDM) as well as the typical SC-FDE This is because OFDM is sure to be the promising approach when taking channel coding into account Computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme 1-bit/sample transmission outperforms COFDM irrespective of coding rate

Abstract: A low complexity sparse Bayesian channel estimation algorithm was proposed for SC-FDE receiver The proposed algorithm firstly applies the combined belief propagation and mean field (BP-MF) algorithm to the Bayesian Hierarchical Prior Model and obtained by approximating some BP messages using generalized approximate message passing (GAMP) algorithm Then we put the channel estimated values that are acquired from the first iteration in such an order-from big to small and further reduce the computational complexity, we eliminate some small value to achieve this goal Finally, we applied the MF method to the Frequency Domain Equalization Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed method has nearly the same performance as compared to the MF algorithm in estimation precision of the channel and Bit Error Rate (BER) while it has much less computational complexity as compared to the MF algorithm
