TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the behavior of scalar field and cosmological constant in the theory of gravity in the form of R+2f(T) where T is the trace of the energy momentum tensor and R is the Ricci scalar.
Abstract: In this article, we have analysed the behaviour of scalar field and cosmological constant in $f(R,T)$ theory of gravity. Here, we have considered the simplest form of $f(R,T)$ i.e. $f(R,T)=R+2f(T)$, where $R$ is the Ricci scalar and $T$ is the trace of the energy momentum tensor and explored the spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Locally Rotationally Symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type-I cosmological model. It is assumed that the Universe is filled with two non-interacting matter sources namely scalar field (normal or phantom) with scalar potential and matter contribution due to $f(R,T)$ action. We have discussed two cosmological models according to power law and exponential law of the volume expansion along with constant and exponential scalar potential as sub models. Power law models are compatible with normal (quintessence) and phantom scalar field whereas exponential volume expansion models are compatible with only normal (quintessence) scalar field. The values of cosmological constant in our models are in agreement with the observational results. Finally, we have discussed some physical and kinematical properties of both the models.

TL;DR: In this article, rotating axion boson stars (RABSs) were constructed and studied, which are the spinning generalisations of the spherical gravitating solitons recently introduced in [1].
Abstract: We construct and study rotating axion boson stars (RABSs). These are the spinning generalisations of the spherical gravitating solitons recently introduced in [1]. RABSs are asymptotically flat, stationary, axially symmetric, everywhere regular solutions of the Einstein-Klein-Gordon theory, in the presence of a periodic scalar potential arising in models of axion-like particles. The potential is characterised by two parameters: the mass of the scalar field ma and the decay constant fa. We present an overview of the solution space, for different values of fa, and analyse some of their phenomenological properties. For large decay constants the solutions become identical to the standard spinning mini boson stars. For small decay constants, on the other hand, the solutions develop distinctive features. In particular, we analyse their compactness, the emergence of ergoregions, light rings and the distribution of stable and unstable equatorial timelike circular orbits, including the innermost stable circular orbit. We also establish the occurrence of violations of the strong energy condition for physical observers, for some RABSs. We observe some analogy between RABSs and spinning gravitating Q-balls.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of computing magnetostatic fields is described that is based on a numerical solution of the integral equation obtained from Green's Theorems, and the magnetic scalar potential and its normal derivative on the surfaces of volumes are found by solving a set of linear equations.
Abstract: A method of computing magnetostatic fields is described that is based on a numerical solution of the integral equation obtained from Green's Theorems. The magnetic scalar potential and its normal derivative on the surfaces of volumes are found by solving a set of linear equations. These are obtained from Green's Second Theorem and the continuity conditions at interfaces between volumes. Results from a twodimensional computer program are presented and these show the method to be accurate and efficient.

TL;DR: The shifted 1/{ital N} expansion method has been extended to solve the Klein-Gordon equation with both scalar and vector potentials and the results are applied to a linear scalar potential to obtain the relativistic energy eigenvalues.
Abstract: The shifted 1/{ital N} expansion method has been extended to solve the Klein-Gordon equation with both scalar and vector potentials. The calculations are carried out to the third-order correction in the energy series. The analytical results are applied to a linear scalar potential to obtain the relativistic energy eigenvalues. Our numerical results are compared with those obtained by Gunion and Li (Phys. Rev. D 12, 3583 (1975)).

Abstract: A boundary element formulation for 3-D nonlinear magnetostatic field problems using the total scalar potential and its normal derivative as unknowns is described. The boundary integral equation is derived from a differential equation for the total scalar potential where a nonlinear operator term can be separated from a linear term. The nonlinear term leads to a volume integral which can be treated as a known forcing function within an iterative solution process. An additional forcing term results from the magnetic excitation coil system. It is shown that the line integral of the magnetic source field which can be defined outside of the current-carrying regions as a gradient of a scalar potential acts as an excitation term. The proposed method is applied to a test problem where an iron cube immersed in the magnetic field of a cylindrical coil is investigated. The numerical results for different saturation stages are compared with finite element method (FEM) calculations. The comparison with FEM calculations shows a good agreement only in highly saturated iron parts. >
