TL;DR: A vibrating concrete screed having a motor driven vibrating shaft in an elongated frame mounts at each end of a single or interconnected plural frames a detachable winching unit driven by the shaft through a fluid motor as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A vibrating concrete screed having a motor driven vibrating shaft in an elongated frame mounts at each end of a single or interconnected plural frames a detachable winching unit driven by the shaft through a fluid motor. The screed may be winched automatically, at varying angles, at different speeds at each end and with the winching units performing a screeding function.

TL;DR: In this paper, a screed extension device is described for use in CONJUNCTION with MACHINES for LAYING ASPHALT PAVEMENT.
Abstract: A SCREED EXTENSION DEVICE IS DISCLOSED FOR USE IN CONJUNCTION WITH MACHINES FOR LAYING ASPHALT PAVEMENT. SUCH MACHINES NORMALLY EMPLOY A HOPPER FOR HOLDING HOT ASPHALT LOCATED SO AS TO DISCHARGE THIS ATERIAL INTO A DISTRIBUTION CHAMBER WHERE THE ASPHALT IS DISTRIBUTED GENERALLY OVER THE AREA TO BE PAVED. AS THE MACHINE IS MOVED A SCREED MEMBER AT THE REAR END OF THE DISTRIBUTION CHAMBER TENDS TO STRIKE OFF AND LEVEL OFF THE ASPHALT DEPOSITED THROUGH THE ACTION ACHIEVED IN THE DISTRIBUTION CHAMBER. THE SCREED EXTENSION DEVICES OF THE INVENTION ACT AS PART OF SUCH A PAVING MACHINE SO AS TO INCREASE THE DIMENSIONS OF THE DISTRIBUTION CHAMBER AND THE SCREED MEMBER AS THE PAVING MACHINE IS OPERATING SO THAT AREAS OF VARYING WIDTHS ON EACH SIDE OF THE PAVING MACHINE MAY BE PAVED.

TL;DR: In this article, a tandem screed for use with a paving machine for compacting and smoothing asphalt paving composition includes a front screed mounted at the end of a towing arm and a rear screed attached to the rear of the front-screed and laterally extensible with respect to the pavement surface.
Abstract: A tandem screed for use with a paving machine for compacting and smoothing asphalt paving composition includes a front screed mounted at the end of a towing arm and a rear screed mounted to the rear of the front screed and laterally extensible with respect thereto A rear screed hydraulic cylinder is hooked up in series with a tow point hydraulic cylinder such that as the tow point is lowered, the rear screed is lowered with respect to the front screed; and as the tow point is raised, the rear screed is raised with respect to the front screed The rear screed is thereby maintained at the same elevation as the front screed as the tow point is raised or lowered, thus avoiding bumps and irregularities in the pavement surface In addition, self-leveling circuitry actuated by the stopping and restarting of the paving machine automatically brings the screeds to a level orientation with respect to the mat as the paving machine is stopped, and returns the screeds to their original angle of attack as the paving machine is restarted In this manner, bumps in the mat resulting from stopping and restarting the paving machine are eliminated

TL;DR: An attachment for a screed bar which is used to level concrete in concrete forms is described in this paper, where two individuals place the bar on the concrete forms and then move it back and forth along the forms to level the concrete after it has been freshly poured into the forms, each member having a pair of parallel plates extending outwardly and upwardly therefrom at an angle of about 70° with respect to the vertical.
Abstract: An attachment for a screed bar which is used to level concrete in concrete forms wherein the screed bar is operated by two individuals who place the bar on the concrete forms and then move it back and forth along the forms to level the concrete after it has been freshly poured into the forms, the attachment comprising an inverted U-shaped member attached adjacent each end of the screed bar, each member having a pair of parallel plates extending outwardly and upwardly therefrom at an angle of about 70° with respect to the vertical, a handle pivotally connected between each pair of parallel plates and extending outwardly and pivotally from each member, whereby the individuals can grasp the handles and move the screed bar over the forms and the concrete therein without having to stoop over.
