TL;DR: In this paper, an extension of the screed of a paving machine is adapted to be attached to the main screed to form a lateral extension thereof, which can be installed and removed in the field by unskilled labor.
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus adapted to be attached to the screed of a paving machine, to form a lateral extension thereof. The construction of the screed extension particularly takes into account that it customarily will be installed and removed in the field, possibly by unskilled labor. Thus, provisions are made for the installation and removal of the screed extension, utilizing tools and equipment readily available in the field. Since the surfacing plate of the screed extension must align accurately with that of the main screed, an adjustable adapter plate is provided, which may be installed and adjusted in the first instance in the contractor''s shop. Thereafter, mounting of the screed extension to the preadjusted adapter plate, is effected by a combination of tapered locating pins and keeper wedges.

TL;DR: A height adjustable paving stone screed for use in an area bounded by a course of paving stones includes an elongated board with a pair of right angle brackets mounted on top of the board.
Abstract: A height adjustable paving stone screed for use in an area bounded by a course of paving stones includes an elongated board. A pair of right angle brackets are mounted on top of the board. Slidably attachable to each right angle brackets include a pair of further right angle brackets, each adjustable vertically with respect to the first right angle bracket. The bottom of each angled bracket is flush with the top the paving stones. Likewise, the bottom surface of the board is even with bottom surfaces of the paving stones, whereby sliding movement of the board establishes a flat plane of bedding material bed at a depth equal to that of the course of paving stones, in the area to support paving stones to fill the area. Sliding movement of the board occurs, establishing a flat plane of to flatten the bedding material for the paving stones.

TL;DR: In this paper, a mobile grade reference device is connected to the paving machine for travel therewith, such grade reference devices being disposed forwardly of the screed and inboard of the lateral extremities thereof.
Abstract: A mobile grade reference device is connected to the paving machine for travel therewith, such grade reference device being disposed forwardly of the screed and inboard of the lateral extremities thereof. A longitudinally extending grade reference beam has the forward end thereof pivotally mounted to the mobile grade reference device at the longitudinal midpoint of the latter, such pivot point being located rearwardly of the pivot axes of the draft arms engaged with the screed. The rearward end of this beam is pivotally mounted to the screed. The control system for raising and lowering the pivot axes of the draft arms has the sensor thereof supported from the screed adjacent to and forward of the forward portion of the screed; this sensor is engaged by a stringline mounted on said beam.

TL;DR: A cement screed tool includes bracket clamps designed to be attached at each end of a long two-man screed, with pivotable handles being attached to each of the clamps.
Abstract: A cement screed tool includes bracket clamps designed to be attached at each end of a long two-man screed, with pivotable handles being attached to each of the clamps. Operators can grip each combined handle and bracket assembly with both hands while standing sideways to the screed, inasmuch as the pivotable handle arrangement includes a pair of spaced-apart hand grips. One of the hand grips is positioned above and the other hand grip is positioned rearwardly of the screed, with selective pivoting of the handles then being permitted by the operators. The specific positioning of the hand grips relative to the screed board facilitates an accurate and efficient control of the screed by an operator.

TL;DR: In this article, a transverse vertical screed or screeds which are advanced along the vertical axis of the road is used to finish concrete pavements, where the pavements are finished with the aid of a transversal vertical screede or screed.
Abstract: This invention relates to methods of finishing concrete pavements, and also to apparatus useful in carrying out such operations. Ordinarily, incident to concrete road construction, the pavements are finished with the aid of a transverse vertical screed or screeds which are advanced along the...
