Abstract: In this chapter we describe the applications of sequential testing methodology to the problem of testing the incidence rates of adverse events in vaccine clinical trials and post-marketing safety evaluation. Section 5.1 describes typical design considerations for vaccine safety evaluation and the application of the SPRT and its other sequential tests that have been applied to test vaccine safety.

TL;DR: The Log Power model is applied to five sets of existing software reliability data and the results are analyzed to decide upon the reliability / reliability of the developed software very quickly.
Abstract: In Classical Hypothesis testing volumes of data is to be collected and then the conclusions are drawn, which may need more time. But, Sequential Analysis of Statistical science could be adopted in order to decide upon the reliability / unreliability of the developed software very quickly. The procedure adopted for this is, Sequential Probability Ratio Test (SPRT). It is designed for continuous monitoring. The likelihood based SPRT proposed by Wald is very general and it can be used for many different probability distributions. The parameters are estimated using Maximum Likelihood Estimation method. In the present paper, we have applied the Log Power model to five sets of existing software reliability data and analyzed the results

TL;DR: In this paper, the order statistics of a sample of unknown size n from an exponential distribution, with unknown mean, are observed sequentially and a sequential probability ratio test (SPRT) is obtained for discriminating between different values of n.
Abstract: The order statistics of a sample of unknown size n from an exponential distribution, with unknown mean, are observed sequentially. A sequential probability Ratio Test (SPRT) is obtained for discriminating between different values of n. An algorithm is given which enables the Average Sample Number (ASN) and Operating characteristic (OC) curves to be found exactly. A conservative approximation to the Average Time to Termination (ATT) of the test is derived. Examples given suggest that this test provides a useful reduction in the ATT compared to fixed sample size tests.
