In one embodiment, data between a host computer system and a memory is communicated via a port or a group of ports at the memory over multiple time intervals, wherein the host computer is coupled to the memory. Further, a command associated with the data is communicated between the host computer system and the memory via the port or the group of ports over a single time interval.

Abstract: Methods and devices for using high-speed serial links for scan testing are disclosed. The methods can work with any scheme of scan data compression or with uncompressed scan testing. The protocol and hardware to support high speed data transfer reside on both the tester and the device under test. Control data may be transferred along with scan data or be partially generated on chip. Clock signals for testing may be generated on chip as well. In various implementations, the SerDes (Serializer/Deserializer) may be shared with other applications. The Aurora Protocol may be used to transport industry standard protocols. To compensate for effects of asynchronous operation of a conventional high-speed serial link, buffers may be used. The high-speed serial interface may use a data conversion block to drive test cores.

More specifically, in certain embodiments, the system and method includes a dynamic port count virtual serial concentrator coupled with a virtualization device to map emulated serial ports to virtual machines along with a remote plugin that provide dynamic concurrent serial access to many virtual machine serial consoles under a secure and collaborative friendly environment.

Abstract: A graphics multi-media integrated circuit (GMIC) is connected to a host processor over two serial links: a half duplex bi-directional serial link which accords to a protocol defined for a display serial interface, and a uni-directional serial link which accords to a compatible protocol defined for a camera serial interface. The GMIC receives packets according to the protocol from the host over the half duplex bi-directional serial link and processes these packets. The GMIC sends packets according to the protocol to the host over the uni-directional serial link. A packet from the host can request a processing operation by the GMIC or can initiate a memory operation at the memory of the GMIC. The GMIC can also send packets to the host to initiate a memory operation at the memory of the host. The GMIC may be connected to a display over a bi-directional serial link according to the display serial interface protocol and to a camera over a uni-directional serial link and a bi-directional control link according to the camera serial interface so that the host controls the display and camera indirectly through the GMIC.

Abstract: A method and system that allows a host system application to securely communicate with a legacy device is provided. A redirector software module receives data that is destined for a host system serial COM port. Data is secured and re-directed to a legacy device via a network port instead of the serial COM port. Conversely, data destined for the host system is provided to a device server via a server COM port by the legacy serial device. The data can be encrypted and sent to the host system via the network. The redirector software module decrypts the encrypted data and presents it to the consumer application as if the data had arrived via the local COM port.

Abstract: Emphasis of the present work is on an elegant real-time solution for GPS/INS integration. Micro-electro mechanical system (MEMS) based inertial sensors are light but not accurate enough for inertial navigation system (INS) applications. An integrated INS/GPS system provides better accuracy compared with either INS or GPS, used individually. This paper describes an improved design and fabrication of a loosely coupled INS-GPS integrated system. The systems currently available use commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and are, therefore, not optimized for compact, single supply, and low power requirements. In the proposed system, a digital signal processor (DSP) is used for inertial navigation solution and Kalman filter computations. A field programmable gate array (FPGA) is used for creating an efficient interface of the GPS with the DSP. Direct serial interface of the GPS involve tedious processing overhead on the navigation processor. Therefore, a universal asynchronous receiver transmitter (UART) and dual port random axis memory (DPRAM) are created on the FPGA itself. This also reduces the total chip count, resulting in a compact system. The system is designed to give real time processed navigation solutions with an update rate of 100 Hz. All the details of this work are presented.

The method includes receiving a request to communicate with a message sign system, executing an initialization file configured to initialize a communication port redirect, executing an initialization file configured to account for transmission latencies associated with use of the communication port redirect, generating a serial communication configured control operation of a message sign system, routing a serial communication from a message control application to the communication port redirect, converting the serial communication to an other communication protocol message receivable by a wireless cellular network, and routing the other communication to the message sign system via the wireless cellular network.

The invention is simple in structure, low in cost, safe and reliable in performance, and can monitor the temperature, current and humidity of the cable connector in real time, thus being applicable to the monitoring of high pressure cable connection device in the mine roadway and other high voltage electric power equipment.

Abstract: A method of realizing multifunctional multiplexing on a single-end serial port comprises the following steps: constructing a plurality of logic channels corresponding to the virtual end of a personal computer end on a terminal device end and constructing the interlayer of a universal asynchronous receiver and transmitter on the device end, transmitting data of all virtual interfaces on the same physical serial port for assembling data packs with marks to differentiate the data of different virtual serial ports when in communication, constructing the interlayer of the universal asynchronous receiver and transmitter of the personal computer end for encapsulating or decoding the data packs from all logical channels, and conducting the data transmission on each virtual port, and realizing the exclusive access of components in the serial port connection mode of system physical one-end-to-many end dependent on a route chip. The method realizes the multifunctional multiplexing on a single end physical serial port channel. A software frame is designed simply, and the physical serial port of a PDA is prevented from simultaneously connecting with a serial port on a PC and other serial ports to generate physical interferences on a hardware circuit.

A management data IO pad also enables the transceiver to support different electrical requirements and data protocols at the same time. The substrate layout of the transceiver is configured so that the parallel ports and the serial ports are on the outer perimeter. A logic core is at the center, where the logic core operates the serial and parallel data ports, and the bus that connects the data ports. The bus can be described as a “ring” structure (or donut “structure”) around the logic core, and is configured between the logic core and the data ports.

A sub-navigation system is connected with the AUV navigation terminal through an IP network and transmits relevant navigation information to the AUV navigation terminal on a real-time basis, and fault detection and integrated navigation operation are finished in the AUV navigation terminal. Each sub-system has the characteristics of independent working, so that a plug-and-play AUV intelligent fault-tolerant integrated navigation simulation system is formed; the problem that the traditional navigation facility accesses to the integrated navigation terminal through an RS232 serial port and is limited to the number of serial ports is solved, thereby achieving the purpose of multiple accesses and representing a trend of equipment internet protocolization. Therefore, research cost is effectively reduced, and the invention has significant engineering application value for researching integrated navigation system and the design of communication for latter navigation system.

When a user requires to switch one module into another module, the following steps are required to be implemented: A, the flag bit is used for indicating that the serial port is required to implement another module and the shielding switch is cast to another module; and B, for switching between the serial port driving function and the debugging output function, the serial port is initialized for implementing another module. The method solves the problem of the time-sharing multiplexing of the driving function and the debugging output function on an identical serial port, and ensures the smooth switching between the serial port driving function and the debugging output function.

Abstract: The invention provides a multi-channel serial port communication system and a control method thereof. The multi-channel serial port communication system comprises a control register, a main controller and a plurality of serial port receiving modules, wherein the control register is used for setting the parameter of a plurality of serial port receiving modules. The main controller is coupled with the control register and used for controlling the plurality of serial port receiving modules so as to send and receive serial data. The serial port receiving modules are respectively coupled with the main controller. The application of the multi-channel serial port communication system and the control method can carry out configuration to the serial port baud rate, stop bit and data frame stop mark through controlling the control register, and also can carry out configuration to the property of the serial port flexibly through adapting to chips and expand the number of channels according to the system resource.

Abstract: The invention discloses a serial interface controller supporting multiple transport protocols, a control method and a computer supporting multiple transport protocols. The serial interface controller comprises a parameter storage unit, a variety setting unit, a bus data transport unit and a control logic processing unit, wherein the parameter storage unit is used for storing the information of control parameters of all the transfer protocols supported by the interface controller; the variety storage unit is used for setting the transport protocol variety abided by a serial interface to be controlled by the controller and generating transport protocol variety setting information; the bus data transport unit is used for transporting data between data processing equipment and the serial interface; the control logic processing unit is used for acquiring control parameter information which corresponds to the transport protocol variety setting information from the parameter storage unit according to the transport protocol variety setting information and controlling the serial interface according to the acquired control parameter information. The functions of a plurality of transport protocols following multiple transport protocols can be fulfilled by one physical serial interface.
