Abstract: A circuit for driving a motor of a compressor includes a microcontroller, which includes an op- amp, a comparator, a first serial interface, and a first dedicated pin. The op-amp amplifies a value indicating current in a power factor correction converter, which includes a power switch. The comparator asserts a comparison signal in response to the amplified value exceeding a reference value. The comparison signal is output on the first dedicated pin. A programmable logic device (PLD) includes a second serial interface in communication with the first serial interface and a second dedicated pin. The comparison signal is received on the second dedicated pin and the PLD receives control messages from the microcontroller via the second serial interface. The PLD sets a value in an off-time register based on a control message from the microcontroller. The PLD controls the power switch according to the comparison signal and the off-time register.

The double-network eight-serial port server is capable of overcoming the problems that the transmission efficiency is low and the shell of the serial port server is single in function as the serial port server in the prior art is bad in anti-interference ability and a plurality of serial ports cannot be well transmitted in parallel.

By use of the system and the method, hardware connection lines can be simplified, so that the mutual coupling property of the system is reduced; and due to use of standard serial port communication, the universality of the system can be improved.

Abstract: Off-chip serial buses are the most common interfaces between sensors and processing elements in embedded systems. Due to their length, these connections dissipate a large amount of energy, contributing significantly to the total consumption of the system. The error-tolerant feature of many sensor applications can be leveraged to reduce this energy contribution by means of an approximate serial data encoding. In this paper, we propose one such encoding called Serial T0, particularly, effective for image sensors data. By exploiting the correlation among pixels colors, Serial T0 significantly reduces the energy dissipation on a serial connection, with minimal impact on image quality, and extremely low codec overheads. Moreover, it allows runtime quality reconfiguration, and can be integrated with standard serial protocols (SPI, I2C, CSI-2, and so on) without requiring modifications to legacy peripherals. We show that Serial T0 is superior to both accurate and approximate state-of-the-art encodings, not only in terms of pure energy saving, but also when combined with realistic error tolerant applications (OCR and face recognition). In the best case, the energy on the bus can be reduced of more than 75% with less than 4% maximum error on the decoded data.

The gateway equipment comprises an equipment access unit, a power supply unit, a storage unit, a matching judgment unit and a master control CPU, wherein the master control CPU is electrically connected with the equipment access unit, the power supply unit, the storage unit and the matching judgment unit.

The method comprises the following steps. A fault simulation host computer runs the Matlab modeling software, establishes a fault model based on Simulink, and generates a target application under the VxWorks real-time operating system under. A fault simulation target machine, connected with the fault simulation host computer through a network, runs the VxWorks real-time operating system and the target application for fault simulation. A fault injection and instruction control machine, connected with the fault simulation target machine and a satellite mounted single-mode machine respectively for transmitting the failure mode instruction of the single-mode machine to realize the switching between the single-mode simulation serial port of the fault simulation target machine and the real single-mode serial port of the satellite mounted single-mode machine. The system and the method of the invention can carry out fault diagnosis and system reconfiguration tests to improve the fault-tolerant ability of the single-machine hardware and the attitude track working in the failure mode of the satellite attitude control system so as to ensure the safety of the satellite.

Abstract: In this paper is presented the design and the prototype implementation of a pneumatic door automation system intended to be used for access control in smart homes. The structure of the developed application is realized around the PIC 16F877A microcontroller which operates together with a pneumatic actuator based on a double acting cylinder controlled through an air distributor with solenoid valve. In the basic mode, the door opening and closing actions can be initiated manually by the user, through password authentification. The main parameters of the system can be configured locally, but an indepth diagnoses and reconfiguration can be performed only through the serial interface which ensure the communication between the main module of the system and an external PC. Compared with other similar systems, the proposed implementation solution allows a high operation speed and very good reliability due to the pneumatic actuation. In addition, the door automation module can be integrated in a centralized access control system dedicated to the smart homes that has all the appliances and other electricity based equipments connected into a local network.

According to the bus fault injection system, the hardware fault injection is adopted, the fault injection functions of a physical layer, an electric gas layer and a protocol layer can be achieved, so that faults occurred in the actual running process of the hardware are simulated more real, and various faults are added in real time in the normal communications of the bus equipment.

Abstract: The data transmission is fairly quick and easy in recent years. Nowadays, there are many serial data transmission methods, such as I2C, SPI, RS-232, USB (Universal Serial Bus), and so on. Recently, USB not only works with convenience but also transmits data fast. It becomes a standard peripheral interface between FPGA development board and personal computer (PC). To satisfy those requirements, the data transmission speed and data volume of USB physical transceiver are continuously improved. The transmitted data will be queued with first-in first-out register (FIFO), proceeding with serial interface engine (SIE), compiling with the USB packet format, and converting it into an analog differential signal by using the Cypress's USB PHY (Port Physical Layer) chip. Then the USB packet will be sent from the transmitted FPGA board to the received FPGA board through the USB cable. Two FPGA boards with USB PHY are used to verify the transceiver function. After the functional verification has been completed, an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) of FIFO and SIE are implemented with TSMC 0.18μm CMOS technology. The gate counts, power consumption, operating frequency, and chip area are 14,547, 2.6742 mW, 50 MHz, and 0.7×0.67 mm2, respectively, at the supply voltage of 1.8 V and the total pins of 40 pins.

After a fault identification code of the system is embedded into a BIOS, the method comprises the steps of detecting an operating state of a CPU or the BIOS from a startup process according to the fault identification code of the system, when the operating state is consistent with a fault state corresponding to the fault identification code of the system, determining the operating state to be the fault state corresponding to the fault identification code of the system to determine a warning state of the computer system; transmitting a level signal corresponding to the warning state to warning equipment through a GPIO interface, wherein the warning equipment is light-emitting equipment or sound production equipment. According to the fault warning method, device and system, the condition of a printout delay of a printing function when the fault state is displayed by using a display or serial port equipment is avoided, and the problem that the fault state displayed by the display or the serial port equipment cannot be accurately matched with an actual fault state is solved.

Abstract: This paper deals with usage of single-chip computers for controlling MIMO systems. The aim is to design a general control system, which is easy to use and easy to implement for other MIMO systems. The performance of control system is limited by the performance of used MCU (PIC 16F876A) and its peripherals (2×PWM, 8×A/D, MAC, …). The key tasks of MCU are communication with upper level and implementation of required control action together with data collection. The serial interface provides communication between control system (PC) and MCU. SCADA/HMI system monitors a controlled system. The application is accessible via Internet browser in local area network (LAN).
