Abstract: The motivation behind this paper is to give a full portrayal of a state-of-the-art SPI master/slave usage. Every single related issue, beginning from the elaboration of introductory details, till the last framework confirmation, is thoroughly examined and justified. In similarity with outline reuse approach, the concerned paper imparts high-grade intellectual properties i.e., IP’s that concerns in gathering all essential components that help in achieving presently required and modern ASIC or SoC applications using this SPI master and slave protocol. Abstract: The aim of this project is to develop an efficient event-driven wireless sensor nodes based network for an effective and power efficient monitoring of plants health and larva population in a remote crop field. In this framework, an event-driven approach is proposed to detect larva and measure other system parameters like Acoustic Complexity Index (ACI), temperature, humidity and soil moisture. The sensors’ data is collected by the front end event-driven sensing node, developed with a STM32F407VG board, via a serial port. The STM32F407VG board is based on the ARM processor. In contrast to the clock driven classical sensing nodes, the devised sensing nodes only acquire and transmits the sensors data in the case of a significant change. It significantly reduces the power consuming data acquisition and transmission activity as compared to the classical solutions. It improves the proposed solution power efficiency and autonomy as compared to the counter classical ones. The data from the node is transmitted to a base station by using a wireless ZigBee interface. The base station collects data from a group of event-driven sensing nodes. This data is transmitted to the Central Processing Unit (CPU) via the USB liaison between the base station and the CPU. On CPU this data is analyzed via the MATLAB based specifically developed application. The findings are displayed and logged on the CPU. It allows the terminal user to access this and to achieve a timely interaction and cure of the intended crop field. The system parameters are adjusted in order to achieve the effective modules integration and performance. The proposed system operation is validated with an experimental setup. Results have shown a promising system realization.

Abstract: There is a growing demand for the development of new types of implantable optoelectronics to support both basic neuroscience and optogenetic treatments for neurological disorders. Target specification requirements include multi-site optical stimulation, programmable radiance profile, safe operation, and miniaturization. It is also preferable to have a simple serial interface rather than large numbers of control lines. This paper demonstrates an optrode structure comprising of a standard complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor process with 18 optical stimulation drivers. Furthermore, diagnostic sensing circuitry is incorporated to determine the long-term functionality of the photonic elements. A digital control system is incorporated to allow independent multisite control and serial communication with external control units.

The intelligent charging pile has the advantages that equipment is conveniently mounted and maintained by modular design, an electric energy meteron-site verification interface can be provided in the charging pile, so that electric energy meter measurement on-site detection is simpler, the charging pile can actively adapt to network load change, and charging current strength is dynamically adjusted.

The multiprotocol intelligent gateway based on narrowband Internet of Things includes a low power consumption unit and a high performance unit, wherein the low power consumption unit includes a low power consumption controller, a solar cell panel, a power management module for managing the power supply mode and the cell state information, an NB-IOT module for receiving the information from a cloud server, a LoRa module for acquiring the field LoRa node information in a local LPWAN, and a signal acquisition conditioning module; the low power consumption controller is communicated with the power management module, the NB-IOT module and the LoRa module bidirectionally; and the high performance unit includes a high performance controller, an RS485 interface module for connecting RS485 nodes, a man-machine interface module for connecting a computer serial port or a serial port liquid crystal screen, a GPS interface module, a data memory module and an ethernet interface module. The multiprotocol intelligent gateway based on narrowband Internet of Things utilizes the mode of coordination of the low power consumption unit and the high performance unit, thus effectively solving the coordination problem of low power consumption and high performance under a plurality of application scenes.

Abstract: While research on high-performance processors is important, it is also interesting to explore processor architectures at the other end of the spectrum: tiny processor cores for auxiliary functions. While it is common to implement small circuits for such functions, such as a serial port, in dedicated hardware, usually as a state machine or a combination of communicating state machines, these functionalities may also be implemented by a small processor. In this paper, we present Lipsi, a very tiny processor to make it possible to implement classic finite state machine logic in software at a minimal cost.

Along with economy development and manpower cost increase, amanufacturing enterprise tends to utilize automatic and intelligent equipment or system for replacing or reducing working of the man. But for truly realizing few man working and no-man working in a production process, cooperated control of producing steps of production field processing, conveying, ensuring, detecting and the like is required in a production process control system. Furthermore functions such as real-time monitoring of a field state and in-time response elimination of a field abnormity are required. The industrial field oriented intelligent Internet-of-things gateway can realizereal-time acquisition of field data, intelligent perception and real-time optimization control of the process. Furthermore the industrial field oriented intelligent Internet-of-things gateway can supply basic supporting for realizing a production process intelligent control function.

Abstract: Robust and reliable operation of high-speed serial interfaces (HSSI) in automotive environment is challenging. In this paper, we present the analysis and design of a 10Gbps receiver with 4-taps decision feedback equalizer (DFE) with 1-tap unrolled. A novel clock-and-data-recovery (CDR) algorithm is presented to consistently deal with the combined effect of Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) and DFE on data transitions. The receiver, designed with a 28nm technology, consumes 2.05mW/Gbps and post-layout simulations are reported to show the advantage of the proposed architecture.

Abstract: The invention provides a serial port achievement method for segmented loading of a DSP program and belongs to the field of embedded device software program upgrading and updating methods. The serial port achievement method comprises the steps that a program is stored in a segmented mode by modifying a CMD file and is cured in FLASH for the first time through a JTAG simulator, then only a combinedsystem needs to be connected with an upper computer through a serial interface in follow-up debugging, the updated segmented programs are written into designated positions of the FLASH through serialport loading application software to achieve partial loading of the program, and a new complete program can run after re-powering-on reset. The program loading mode of the method is simple and easy, program updating is flexible, a development cycle is greatly shortened, the function upgrading capability of the combined system is enhanced, and even the phenomenon that a DSP is suddenly powered downoccurs in the program updating process, the DSP can normally execute undeleted program parts after being powered on again. Only FLASH address fields corresponding to the undeleted program parts are erased, and unnecessary FLASH erasing time is saved.

Abstract: This paper presents a packet bridge between Ethernet and Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) with format transformation in smart sensor system. The transformed packet can be fed to the optical fiber, which proceeds with various features such as high speed, long distance, and low interference. With SONET, the packet bridge performs with high speed, long distance, low interference, and good-property in sensor system, whereas the bridge works without those features in electrical transmission. The packet bridge is designed and implemented with Verilog Hardware Description Language (HDL) and verified with FPGA development board with RS485 serial port. Measured results show that the operation frequency, throughput, data transfer rate of RS485, and data transfer rate of Ethernet are 125 MHz, 633,661,952 bps, 115,200 bps, and 1 Gbps, respectively, at the data volume of 8 bits, a RAM of 2 k bytes, and a FIFO of 1 k bytes.

Abstract: Traditionally, microcontroller units (MCU) used in control applications used to send data via serial ports or a proprietary communication system to a computer for monitoring purposes as well as to get control commands. However, this procedure presents some drawbacks since the MCU itself performs the communication tasks, using up part of the limited cycle time available for control. In this paper, a novel development system using the new dual core MCU trend is proposed and used to carry out the emulation of a whole renewable power plant. It takes advantage of two different and specialized microcontroller architectures, wherein a communication core monitors what the other core, a control DSP, is measuring, calculating, etc., and sends a large amount of data to a computer without disturbing the control cycle time. Also, since the MCU features a native Ethernet connection, the emulated power plant can even be controlled and monitored from afar.

Abstract: This paper deals with an application of two degrees of freedom controller (2DOF) on a controlled system. The control system is based on a single-chip microcontroller (MCU). The communication is provided by the serial interface which is between an industrial personal computer (IPC) and MCU. The controlled system is monitored and controlled by SCADA/HMI system. The PI 2DOF controller is designed for DC motor. The achieved results confirm theoretical assumption about process quality.

Abstract: In the paper, the background radiation monitoring system has been developed. It has been built on the Arduino Uno microcontroller board, Geiger-Mueller counters, alphanumeric LCD module and high-voltage power supply module for counters. The system measures power of the equivalent radiation dose and accumulated dose and outputs the information via the serial port to PC, and also sends warning signals when the equivalent dose rate is exceeded.

Abstract: The invention discloses an FPGA-based universal asynchronous serial port and response method thereof. The asynchronous serial port comprises a register module, a control module, a reception module, atransmission module, a reception memory and a transmission memory. The response method comprises the following steps of: after the universal asynchronous serial port detects a signal, executing a start condition; carrying out data analysis and restoration according to characteristics of a physical layer protocol configured by an interface so as to obtain reception interpretation data; detecting anapplication layer protocol configured by the interface; matching the data with the application layer protocol byte by byte; if all the pieces of data are successfully matched, returning response datato complete asynchronous serial port communication; if the matching fails, recording error information; and no matter whether the matching succeeds or not, storing received asynchronous serial port data for analysis. According to the FPGA-based universal asynchronous serial port and the response method, uniform description of asynchronous serial port communication is realized, the defects that the traditional asynchronous serial port data processing method is bad in universality, long in research period and high in cost are overcome, and the advantages of being standard, strong in reusability, short in research period and low in cost are provided.

Abstract: This paper presents the integration of the underwater communication network protocol “Dflood”, of the restricted flooding family, over commercial modems from Teledyne Benthos. The network protocol was re-implemented and is running on a separate processor board, communicating with the modem over the serial port. Issues of fragmentation and packet reception errors are handled by a separate framing mechanism between the network layer and the modem. The setup was successfully tested in November 2017 as part of the DUSN (Distributed Underwater Sensor Networks) cooperation project between Canada, Norway, and Sweden. Good network layer performance was achieved in spite of most individual links having a packet delivery ratio between 0.25 and 0.75. By this work, we show an example of how network protocols from the research community can be run over commercial modems without accessing or modifying the modem firmware.

The device comprises an Android integrated machine, an STM32 single chip microcomputer, a message interaction module group, an expression module group, a recognition module group and a moving module group, wherein the Android integrated machine, the STM32 single chip microcomputer, the message interaction module group, the expression module group, the recognition module group and the moving module group are arranged on a robot body; the message interaction module group comprises a speech input module, a touch screen input module, a display screen and a sound device which are respectively connected with the Android integrated machine; the expression module group comprises a display lamp group which is connected with the STM32 single chip microcomputer; the recognition module group comprises a laser sensor and a camera which are connected with the STM32 single chip microcomputer;the moving module group comprises a power supply monitoring module, a laser radar, an ultrasonic sensor and a driving motor which are respectively connected with a Raspberry Pi controller; the Androidintegrated machine and the STM32 single chip microcomputer communicate with each other through bluetooth; the STM32 single chip microcomputer is connected with the Raspberry Pi controller through a serial port; and the Android integrated machine is connected with a cloud server. According to the intelligent service robot device, existing resources are fully used, and devices are reasonably recombined, adjusted and additionally arranged, so that the effect of greatly increasing the service quality is achieved.

Abstract: The invention provides an intelligent management system for transfusion. The intelligent management system for transfusion comprises a monitoring module, a management control module, a wireless communication module, an upper computer and an APP terminal, wherein the input end of the management control module is connected with the output end of the monitoring module, the management control module is connected with the wireless communication module through a serial port, the management control module is in data interaction with the upper computer through the wireless communication module, and the APP terminal is in data interaction with the upper computer through the mobile network. The monitoring module is used for detecting the state information of a transfusion device in real time and sending the state information, the management control module adjusts the transfusion device according to the state information, the wireless communication module sends the state information to the uppercomputer, and upper computer or the APP terminal displays and/or broadcasts the real-time state of the transfusion device according to the state information. For the intelligent management system fortransfusion, the transfusion safety and management level can be improved, and the medical conditions can be improved.

Abstract: The aim of this project is to develop an efficient event driven wireless sensors network for an effective and power efficient monitoring of plants health and larva population in a remote crop field. In this framework, an event-driven wireless sensors network is proposed to detect larva and measure other system parameters like Acoustic Complexity Index (ACI), temperature, humidity and soil moisture. The sensors' data is collected by the front end sensing node, developed with a STM32F407VG board, via a serial port. The STM32F407VG board is based on the ARM processor. In contrast to the clock driven classical sensing nodes, the devised sensing nodes only acquire and transmits the sensors data in the case of a significant change. It significantly reduces the power consuming data acquisition and transmission activity as compared to the classical solutions. It improves the proposed solution power efficiency and autonomy as compared to the counter classical ones. The data from the node is transmitted to a base station by using a wireless ZigBee interface. The base station collects data from a group of event-driven sensing nodes. This data is transmitted to the Central Processing Unit (CPU) via the USB liaison between the base station and the CPU. On CPU this data is analyzed via the MATLAB based specifically developed application. The findings are displayed and logged on the CPU. It allows the terminal user to access this and to achieve a timely interaction and cure of the intended crop field. The system parameters are adjusted in order to achieve the effective modules integration and performance. The proposed system operation is tested with an experimental setup. Results have confirmed a proper system functionality.
