Abstract: To construct sophisticated biochemical circuits from scratch, one needs to understand how simple the building blocks can be and how robustly such circuits can scale up. Using a simple DNA reaction mechanism based on a reversible strand displacement process, we experimentally demonstrated several digital logic circuits, culminating in a four-bit square-root circuit that comprises 130 DNA strands. These multilayer circuits include thresholding and catalysis within every logical operation to perform digital signal restoration, which enables fast and reliable function in large circuits with roughly constant switching time and linear signal propagation delays. The design naturally incorporates other crucial elements for large-scale circuitry, such as general debugging tools, parallel circuit preparation, and an abstraction hierarchy supported by an automated circuit compiler.

29 Jun 1992TL;DR: In this paper, a multilevel commutation cell is introduced for high-voltage power conversion, which can be applied to either choppers or voltage-source inverters and generalized to any number of switches.
Abstract: The authors discuss high-voltage power conversion. Conventional series connection and three-level voltage source inverter techniques are reviewed and compared. A novel versatile multilevel commutation cell is introduced: it is shown that this topology is safer and more simple to control, and delivers purer output waveforms. The authors show how this technique can be applied to either choppers or voltage-source inverters and generalized to any number of switches. >

TL;DR: The series-parallel connection is a simple type of electric network termed a series parallel connection which occurs frequently in both theoretical and applied electrical engineering as mentioned in this paper, where the joint resistance is easily evaluated by the following two rules due to Ohm: 0 s.

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple cascode with the gate voltage of the cascode transistor being controlled by a feedback amplifier called a regulated cascode is presented, where the minimum output voltage is lower by 30 to 60% while the output conductance and the feedback capacitance are lower by about 100 times.
Abstract: A simple cascode with the gate voltage of the cascode transistor being controlled by a feedback amplifier called a regulated cascode is presented. In comparison to the standard cascode circuit, the minimum output voltage is lower by about 30 to 60% while the output conductance and the feedback capacitance are lower by about 100 times. An analytical large-signal, small-signal, and noise analysis is carried out. Some applications like current mirrors and voltage amplifiers are discussed. Experimental results confirming the theory are presented. >
