TL;DR: In this article, a system for personalizing interaction between a user communicating over at least one communication channel and a provider of information/products/services, the user having a communication device for communication over the channel with the provider, the system comprising a channel interface for interfacing with the channel, an information/product/service interface for interface with an information or product/service provider; and a knowledge management system coupled to the channel and information/Product/Service interface.
Abstract: A system for personalizing interaction between a user communicating over at least one communication channel and a provider of information/products/services, the user having a communication device for communication over the channel with the provider, the system comprising a channel interface for interfacing with the channel, an information/product/service interface for interfacing with an information/product/service provider; and a knowledge management system coupled to the channel and information/product/service interface, the knowledge management system comprising a knowledge management repository storing information concerning the user, the information obtained from interaction with the user over the channel including current interactions between the user and the knowledge management system, and further storing information concerning a plurality of information/products/services to offer to the user, and a personalization engine for making a decision as to which of the plurality of information/product/services to present to the user over the communication channel based on the stored information in the knowledge management repository.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a system information (SI) broadcast from a radio access network (RAN) node to indicate that an operator of the RAN node supports service-based network access.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed such that a WTRU may obtain network operator agnostic wireless access for a service. The WTRU may receive a system information (SI) broadcast from a radio access network (RAN) node. The SI broadcast may indicate that an operator of the RAN node supports service-based network access. The WTRU may send a service request to a virtual service provider to request the service. The WTRU may receive a service response from the virtual service provider. The WTRU may receive a service response from the virtual service provider, the service response indicating a mobile network operator (MNO) to use for obtaining the service and subscription information for accessing the MNO, wherein the MNO is different than the operator of the RAN node. The WTRU may access the MNO to obtain the service.

TL;DR: This survey presents a tutorial overview of the popular video streaming techniques deployed for stored videos, followed by identifying various metrics that could be used to quantify the QoE for video streaming services; and presents a comprehensive survey of the literature on various tools and measurement methodologies that have been proposed to measure or predict theQoE of online video streaming Services.
Abstract: Video-on-demand streaming services have gained popularity over the past few years. An increase in the speed of the access networks has also led to a larger number of users watching videos online. Online video streaming traffic is estimated to further increase from the current value of 57% to 69% by 2017, Cisco, 2014. In order to retain the existing users and attract new users, service providers attempt to satisfy the user's expectations and provide a satisfactory viewing experience. The first step toward providing a satisfactory service is to be able to quantify the users' perception of the current service level. Quality of experience (QoE) is a quality metric that provides a holistic measure of the users' perception of the quality. In this survey, we first present a tutorial overview of the popular video streaming techniques deployed for stored videos, followed by identifying various metrics that could be used to quantify the QoE for video streaming services; finally, we present a comprehensive survey of the literature on various tools and measurement methodologies that have been proposed to measure or predict the QoE of online video streaming services.

TL;DR: Stufflebeam’s Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) evalu ation model is recommended as a framework to systematically guide the conception, design, implementation, and assessment of service-learning projects, and provide feedback and judgment of the project’'s effectiveness for continuous improvement.
Abstract: Planning, implementing, and assessing a service-learning projectcan be a complex task because service-learning projects ofteninvolve multiple constituencies and aim to meet both the needsof service providers and community partners. In this article,Stufflebeam’s Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) evaluationmodel is recommended as a framework to systematicallyguide the conception, design, implementation, and assessmentof service-learning projects, and provide feedback and judgmentof the project’s effectiveness for continuous improvement. Thisarticle (1) explores the CIPP evaluation model’s theoretical rootsand applications, (2) delineates its four components, (3) analyzeseach component’s role in a service-learning project’s success, and (4) discusses how the model effectively addresses Service-Learning Standards for Quality Practice. This article illustratesthe application and evaluation of the model in a teacher-educationservice-learning tutoring project.

TL;DR: In this article, a set-top box (10) is provided to each consumer and contains a copy protection circuit which is adapted to apply selected anticopy waveforms to the video signal corresponding to the program material in response to commands from the service providers (3).
Abstract: A method and system of providing copy protection of video analog and digital signals and the like, wherein the signals are transmitted via a digital delivery network, and may comprise, for example, pay-per-view (PPV) program materials protected by copyrights of respective program rights holders. The right holders authorize video service providers (3) to apply copy protection to the program material. The copy protection process is supplied to the rights holders or the service providers (3) by a copy protection process licensor. The video service providers (3) supply suitable copy protection control software via respective control and billing (tracking) centers to generate commands which activate, control and reconfigure the copy protection process being applied to the programs being transmitted. A set-top box (10) is provided to each consumer and contains a copy protection circuit which is adapted to apply selected anticopy waveforms to the video signal corresponding to the program material in response to the commands from the service providers (3). Usage data pertinent to each consumer is returned by the set-top box (10) to the service providers (3), which then report the copy protection usage to the respective rights holders and process licensor.
