TL;DR: In this article, techniques for managing identities are provided for use with mobile devices, mobile applications, cloud applications, and/or other web-based applications for authentication, authorization, and token exchange.
Abstract: Techniques for managing identities are provided. In some examples, identity management, authentication, authorization, and token exchange frameworks may be provided for use with mobile devices, mobile applications, cloud applications, and/or other web-based applications. For example a mobile client may request to perform one or more identity management operations associated with an account of a service provider. Based at least in part on the requested operation and/or the particular service provider, an application programming interface (API) may be utilized to generate and/or perform one or more instructions and/or method calls for managing identity information of the service provider.

TL;DR: Two new protocols are presented providing complete privacy with respect to the SP and controllable privacy withrespect to the buddies, showing the superiority of the new protocols compared to those appeared in the literature to date.
Abstract: A major feature of the emerging geo-social networks is the ability to notify a user when any of his friends (also called buddies) happens to be geographically in proximity. This proximity service is usually offered by the network itself or by a third party service provider (SP) using location data acquired from the users. This paper provides a rigorous theoretical and experimental analysis of the existing solutions for the location privacy problem in proximity services. This is a serious problem for users who do not trust the SP to handle their location data and would only like to release their location information in a generalized form to participating buddies. The paper presents two new protocols providing complete privacy with respect to the SP and controllable privacy with respect to the buddies. The analytical and experimental analysis of the protocols takes into account privacy, service precision, and computation and communication costs, showing the superiority of the new protocols compared to those appeared in the literature to date. The proposed protocols have also been tested in a full system implementation of the proximity service.

TL;DR: In this article, a home marketing system may include an appliance, a communications network connected to the appliance, and a processor connected with the communications network for monitoring appliance data signals, and the service provider may provide a service based on the monitored data appliance signals.
Abstract: In one general aspect, a home marketing system may include an appliance, a communications network connected to the appliance, a processor connected to the communications network for monitoring appliance data signals, and a service provider. The service provider may provide a service based on the monitored data appliance signals. The service provided may be information about the appliance, maintenance of the appliance, or an extended warranty for the appliance.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the development and application of a set of sustainability criteria, which have been developed and tested with project partners in the UK and Romania, and they will be used in a 'guidebook' that will set out a framework to facilitate the inclusion of sustainability in the decision-making process.
Abstract: The incorporation of sustainability assessment into decision-making processes is a key task for water service providers in the UK and elsewhere. This paper describes the development and application of a set of sustainability criteria, which have been developed and tested with project partners in the UK and Romania. They will be used in a 'guidebook' that will set out a framework to facilitate the inclusion of sustainability in the decision-making process. This work is part of the Sustainable Water Industry Asset Resource Decisions project to develop a multi-criteria analysis decision support system to assist water service providers to assess the relative sustainability of water/wastewater system asset development decisions.
