Abstract: A system delivers multimedia services to mobile devices via a network by first registering a mobile device with a service manager connected to the mobile device via the network. Application service providers are connected to the service manager via the network. Each application service provider is associated with particular multimedia services. An environment description to be associated with the mobile device is acquired, and a particular application service provider is identified according to the environment description, and then selected services provided by the particular application service provider are delivered to the mobile device according to the environment description via the network.

Abstract: We introduce a new practical mechanism for remote data storage with efficient access pattern privacy and correctness. A storage client can deploy this mechanism to issue encrypted reads, writes, and inserts to a potentially curious and malicious storage service provider, without revealing information or access patterns. The provider is unable to establish any correlation between successive accesses, or even to distinguish between a read and a write. Moreover, the client is provided with strong correctness assurances for its operations -- illicit provider behavior does not go undetected. We built a first practical system -- orders of magnitude faster than existing implementations -- that can execute over several queries per second on 1Tbyte+ databases with full computational privacy and correctness.

Abstract: Outsourcing is now a commonly accepted means of meeting organizational IS needs. One facet of recent outsourcing research has begun to concentrate on the relationship between customers and their service providers. However, this line of research is hampered by a lack of consistent conceptual focus, and a corresponding inconsistent treatment of constructs associated with the relationship. This paper uses Relational Exchange Theory as a conceptual basis for identifying the individual constructs that comprise a relationship. It then develops and tests a set of items to measure those constructs, using structural equation modeling and survey data collected from U.S. outsourcing customers.
