TL;DR: In this paper, an apparatus, system and method are provided for OTA downloading, configuring and updating application programs stored in a memory of mobile communication device, including a number of downloadable or built-in application-based programs that efficiently perform the following: customizing services from various service providers via internet or call centers; downloading new applications and updating existing applications via short, wireless messages from application servers to the mobile device; notifying service providers through internet protocol between wireless application servers and service providers; uploading and registering new applications to wireless application server from developers through the internet; and parsing
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method are provided for OTA downloading, configuring and updating application programs stored in a memory of mobile communication device. The apparatus and method include a number of downloadable or “built-in” application-based programs that efficiently perform the following: customizing services from various service providers via internet or call centers; downloading new applications and updating existing applications via short, wireless messages from application servers to the mobile device; notifying service providers through internet protocol between wireless application servers and service providers; uploading and registering new applications to wireless application servers from developers through the internet; and parsing short, wireless messages from messaging centers using application managers to distinguish between command messages for applications and regular text messages. The application manager, in combination with the call center and application servers, provides end-to-end data communication such that incompatible protocols are transparent to the wireless device and various service providers.

TL;DR: In this article, an integrated model that examines two relationship quality constructs (overall customer satisfaction, customer-company identification) as mediating variables between Chinese tourists' lodging service quality perceptions and two outcomes (repurchase intentions, subjective well-being) was proposed.

Abstract: A case is made for further developing a branch of systems engineering that focuses on problems and issues which arise in the service sector. We promulgate this special focus not only because of the size and importance of the service sector but also because of the unique opportunities that systems engineering can exploit in the design and joint production and delivery of services. We begin by considering the economic, technological and demographic contexts within which the service sector has flourished; we then address both services, especially emerging services, and systems engineering, followed by a discussion of how to advance the field of service systems engineering, and concluding with several remarks. In particular, a number of service systems engineering methods are identified to enhance the design and production/delivery of services, especially taking advantage of the unique features that characterize services — namely, services, especially emerging services, are information-driven, customer-centric, e-oriented, and productivity-focused.

TL;DR: This work focuses on comparing many employed and proposed pricing models techniques and highlights the pros and cons of each, and finds that most approaches are theoretical and not implemented in the real market, although their simulation results are very promising.
Abstract: Cloud computing is emerging as a promising field offering a variety of computing services to end users. These services are offered at different prices using various pricing schemes and techniques. End users will favor the service provider offering the best QoS with the lowest price. Therefore, applying a fair pricing model will attract more customers and achieve higher revenues for service providers. This work focuses on comparing many employed and proposed pricing models techniques and highlights the pros and cons of each. The comparison is based on many aspects such as fairness, pricing approach, and utilization period. Such an approach provides a solid ground for designing better models in the future. We have found that most approaches are theoretical and not implemented in the real market, although their simulation results are very promising. Moreover, most of these approaches are biased toward the service provider.

TL;DR: This paper categorizes computation offloading into three modes: remote cloud service mode, connected ad hoc cloudletService mode, and opportunistic ad hocCloudlet service mode and conducts a detailed analytic study for the proposed three modes of computation offload at ad hoccloudlet.
Abstract: As mobile devices are equipped with more memory and computational capability, a novel peer-to-peer communication model for mobile cloud computing is proposed to interconnect nearby mobile devices through various short range radio communication technologies to form mobile cloudlets, where every mobile device works as either a computational service provider or a client of a service requester. Though this kind of computation offloading benefits compute-intensive applications, the corresponding service models and analytics tools are remaining open issues. In this paper we categorize computation offloading into three modes: remote cloud service mode, connected ad hoc cloudlet service mode, and opportunistic ad hoc cloudlet service mode. We also conduct a detailed analytic study for the proposed three modes of computation offloading at ad hoc cloudlet.
