TL;DR: In this article, the analysis engine configures a filter router to advertise new routing information to the border and edge routers of the ISP network to reroute attack traffic and non-attack traffic destined for the customer network to the filter router.
Abstract: Service attacks, such as denial of service and distributed denial of service attacks, of a customer network are detected and subsequently mitigated by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) that services the customer network. A sensor examines the traffic entering the customer network for attack traffic. When an attack is detected, the sensor notifies an analysis engine within the ISP network to mitigate the attack. The analysis engine configures a filter router to advertise new routing information to the border and edge routers of the ISP network. The new routing information instructs the border and edge routers to reroute attack traffic and non-attack traffic destined for the customer network to the filter router. At the filter router, the attack traffic and non-attack traffic are automatically filtered to remove the attack traffic. The non-attack traffic is passed back onto the ISP network for routing towards the customer network.

TL;DR: This tutorial puts put these business and technology innovations into historical context and relates them to one another through the unifying concepts of business integration and systems integration.
Abstract: The last decade or so spawned a host of business and technology innovations. On the business side, we saw business process reengineering, the management philosophies of customer relationship management and supply chain management, virtual organizations, electronic commerce, and business-tobusiness trading exchanges. On the technology side, we saw client-server computing, enterprise resource planning systems, the widespread adoption of Internet protocols, intranets and enterprise information portals, software package support for customer relationship management, supply chain management and other activities related to electronic business, and applications service providers. This tutorial puts put these business and technology innovations into historical context and relates them to one another through the unifying concepts of business integration and systems integration. One theme of the tutorial is the incomplete linkage between business integration and systems integration. Another is the imperfect relationship between the management philosophies of customer relationship management, supply chain management and electronic

TL;DR: In this paper, a cellular telephone system is upgraded by modifying subscriber units for selective service provider acquisition during roaming, where priority of acquisition is given to those service providers associated with the home service provider.
Abstract: A cellular telephone system is upgraded by modifying subscriber units for selective service provider acquisition during roaming. Priority of acquisition is given to those service providers associated with the home service provider. These preferred service providers are identified by System Identification (SIDs) numbers. A roaming subscriber unit will tune to control frequencies to identify all of the system providers operating in a physical area to which the subscriber has roamed. The SIDs of those system providers available are compared to a preferred SID list contained within the subscriber unit. Selection is made based upon a priority of those system providers having arrangements with the home system provider. The SID lists in the subscriber units are modified based upon a version number for each update on the SID list.

TL;DR: SOC reinvents the way enterprises work together: common tasks in a business process or supply chain can be easily outsourced to external service providers for both performance and cost reasons.
Abstract: Service-oriented computing using Web services has emerged as a major research topic in recent years. Strong support from major computer companies including IBM, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, and SAP has accelerated the acceptance and adoption of SOC using Web services. With SOC, enterprises can define and execute transactions across multiple business. Companies can use SOC's plug-and-play interoperability to compose business processes and integrate different information systems on the fly to enable ad hoc cooperation between new partners. Thus, SOC reinvents the way enterprises work together: common tasks in a business process or supply chain can be easily outsourced to external service providers for both performance and cost reasons.
