TL;DR: In this paper, a scaled-magnitude MCCF (SM-MCCF) was proposed for multimodal biometric authentication based on face and handwritten signature recognition.
Abstract: We propose a novel variant of the multi-channel correlation filters (MCCF), namely the scaled-magnitude MCCF (SM-MCCF). The SM-MCCF is characterized by a scaling factor on the magnitude response, which has phase-only spectrum and conventional magnitude and phase spectra as the corner cases. We show that the SM-MCCF design technique, when applied to a multimodal biometric authentication system based on face and handwritten signature recognition, outperforms the conventional MCCF and SVM classifiers under low SNR conditions. Furthermore, the utility of the SM-MCCF is also explored for multimodal fusion with image features for face and handwritten signatures with i-vectors for speech data. Our experimental results indicate that SM-MCCF provides a reasonable improvement in performance, in terms of the EER and recognition rate, as opposed to the MCCF in both moderately and severely degraded scenarios. Moreover, we also demonstrate that the feature level fusion is advantageous than score fusion as the level of abstraction in feature representation is lesser when compared to score level representations.

TL;DR: In this article, methods for semantic processing of data files including detecting formats of data embedded in the data files and converting the data to formats compatible with a data analysis tool are presented.
Abstract: Methods are provided for semantic processing of data files including detecting formats of data embedded in the data files and converting the data to formats compatible with a data analysis tool. The method may comprise determining if the data file comprises signature characteristics associated with a known data format and, if so, determining a set of data manipulation operations associated with the known data format to convert the data file to a compatible format for the data analysis tool. The method may further comprise semantically analyzing components of the data files to assess formatting across a required set of criterions needed by the data analysis tool and determining sets of data manipulation operations to perform to convert the data file to a compatible format.

TL;DR: In this article, an approach for online signature verification for person authentication from nonlinear time series analysis based on delay coordinate embedding has been presented, which is found to be more effective compared to the most popular DTW based approach from the simulation experiments with the benchmark data set SVC 2004 of Signature verification Contest held in 2004.
Abstract: In this article, an approach for online signature verification for person authentication from nonlinear time series analysis based on delay coordinate embedding has been presented. The proposed approach is found to be more effective compared to the most popular DTW based approach from the simulation experiments with the benchmark data set SVC 2004 of Signature verification Contest held in 2004. The proposed approach is also shown to be specially effective when tuned to individual writer which seems to be important in developing person specific algorithms in personalized authentication applications. Moreover the approach can also be extended to other behavioural biometric as such human gait.

TL;DR: In this paper , two images of the original signature and the test signature are used as input in the verification process, and the characteristics that were extracted are compared to determine whether the signature is fake or not.
Abstract: The use of signatures for personal identification and verification is quite common. Signatures are validated for many documents such as Bank cheques and legal transactions. The necessity for effective automated solutions for signature verification has grown as signatures are now a prerequisite for both authorization and authentication in legal activities. Two images—the original signature and the test signature—are used as input in this process. Prior to feature extraction, these photos are pre-processed. To determine whether the signature is fake or not, the characteristics that were extracted are compared, and the difference in error values between them is examined. The key advantages of signature verification systems (SVS) over alternative verification technologies include time and energy savings, a reduction in the risk of fraud during authentication, and a reduction in the likelihood of human error during the signature process.

TL;DR: In this paper, one of the biometric authentication schemes which is most popular, "Minutiae Fingerprint Recognition Using Hausdorff Distance" is explored.
Abstract: Biometric authentication is an excellent way to security now days. Now it has been proven that each and every individual has its own biometric feature such as Fingerprint, Iris, Footsteps, Face and Voice which is different from other. These can be used to identify individual. Using biometric not only guarantees identification but it guarantees fast identification. Now day's technologies are exploring the features of biometric authentication for rapid and fast identification of individuals. In this paper I have explored one of the biometric authentication schemes which are most popular, "Minutiae Fingerprint Recognition Using Hausdorff Distance".
