TL;DR: In this article, a method for sediment ejection and siltation reduction in flood season of the Three Gorges Reservoir is presented. But the method is limited to flood season.
Abstract: The invention discloses a Three Gorges Reservoir flood season sediment peak scheduling method also capable of realizing sediment ejection. The method comprises the following steps: not performing sediment peak scheduling when the sediment content S of the into-reservoir sediment peak is smaller than 2.0kg/m or the flux Q of the Cuntan station at the sediment peak into-reservoir day is smaller than 25000m /s; predicting the sediment content S yellow of the leave-reservoir sediment peak, and not performing sediment peak scheduling when the predicted value is smaller than 0.3kg/m ; predicting the sediment peak leave-reservoir date, enhancing sediment discharge to discharge the sediment 1-2 days ahead on the basis of the predicted sediment peak leave-reservoir date, wherein the water reservoir discharge flow during a sediment discharging process should not be smaller than 35000m /s; the release-enhancing and sediment-discharging process of the water reservoir should be at least continued till the time which is about 1-2 days after the sediment peak leave-reservoir date, and afterwards the sediment peak scheduling is ended at a selected time according to the leave-reservoir sediment content and the water level condition of the reservoir; the sediment peak scheduling process should be performed at a relatively low reservoir water level as far as possible, sediment discharging holes are preferably used for discharging flood and sediment, and trashways and deep flood discharging holes are used in the second place. The method disclosed by the invention is concise, practical, targeted and capable of providing technical support for sediment ejection and siltation reduction in flood season of the Three Gorges Reservoir.

TL;DR: The van dorn sampler was used to measure water chemistry, chlorophyll, bacteria, vegetation, benthos, fish, clams, birds, foraminifera and sedimentology.
Abstract: In 1984, the Nova Scotia government proposed to build a section of provincial highway 107 across a salt marsh at chezzetcook. Salt marshes were identified by several agencies as being sensitive to any construction, especially a roadway which would have the potential of even greater effects from deicing chemicals or accidental spills. The department established a series of testing procedures which would be used to judge the effects of the construction. Parameters to be measured included water chemistry, chlorophyll, bacteria, vegetation, benthos, fish, clams, birds, foraminifera and sedimentology. In order to protect the salt marsh, extraordinary construction techniques had to be implemented to reduce siltation at any other injurious site. Special lagoons were constructed to collect any runoff and the entire construction site was protected by silt fences. Department technicians continuously monitored water chemistry, expecially the ph of runoff waters. Detailed monitoring of the suspended solids in all runoff waters was done using a special sampling device, the van dorn sampler. (a)

TL;DR: In this article, the authors calculated the influnce of the tidal current, the tidal level, the sediment transport of seabed around sea area due to the construction of the Song do New city.
Abstract: We calculated using siltation model to know the influnce of the tidal current, the tidal level, the sediment transport of seabed around sea area due to the construction of the Song do New city. We calculated the tidal current and based on this we estimated scour, sedimentation using the advection-diffusion equation and accessed the sediment transport of seabed before and after the construction of the New city. Sedimentation was increased in the east coast of Young jong Do, and Scour was increased according to the direction from the front route of north harbor to Ho do. Tidal level was increased overall.
