TL;DR: In this paper, the specific features of atomic structure of α-, β-, and γ-phases of Li 3 M 2 (PO 4 ) 3 have been determined, and the influence of isomorphic displacements on phase transition temperature and the values of conductivity have been established.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a new method for dicing a matrix made up of an oxide single crystal by a dry process, where the matrix is caused to undergo a dicing process by cleaving the matrix 1 along the grooves 3, 4 to obtain a cut piece of a specified shape.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for dicing a matrix made up of an oxide single crystal by a dry process. SOLUTION: Grooves 3, 4 are formed in a matrix 1 made up of an oxide single crystal by emitting a laser beam 6 and dissociating/evaporating the molecule of the oxide single crystal through an optical reaction to remove the molecule and fabricate the matrix 1. The matrix is caused to undergo a dicing process by cleaving the matrix 1 along the grooves 3, 4 to obtain a cut piece of a specified shape. Preferably the matrix 1 is wafer 1, on which functional devices are formed at positions corresponding to the cut pieces. The functional devices are such as an optical device and a piezoelectric vibrator.

TL;DR: In this paper, a single crystal sample of the magnesium diboride MgB2 superconductivity was obtained and its electrical resistance and magnetization measurements were performed, which indicated that the electronic and magnetic properties depend on the crystallographic direction.
Abstract: The discovery of superconductor in magnesium diboride MgB2 with high Tc (39 K) has raised some challenging issues; whether this new superconductor resembles a high temperature cuprate superconductor(HTS) or a low temperature metallic superconductor; which superconducting mechanism, a phonon- mediated BCS or a hole superconducting mechanism or other new exotic mechanism may account for this superconductivity; and how about its future for applications. In order to clarify the above questions, experiments using the single crystal sample are urgently required. Here we have first succeeded in obtaining the single crystal of this new MgB2 superconductivity, and performed its electrical resistance and magnetization measurements. Their experiments show that the electronic and magnetic properties depend on the crystallographic direction. Our results indicate that the single crystal MgB2 superconductor shows anisotropic superconducting properties and thus can provide scientific basis for the research of its superconducting mechanism and its applications.

TL;DR: In this article, the elastic properties and structural parameters of cubic single crystals as well as tetragonal, orthorhombic, and rhombohedral BaTiO3 single domain states are obtained using first-principles calculations under the local density approximation.
Abstract: Predicting the domain structures and properties in both bulk single crystal and thin film ferroelectrics using the phase-field approach requires the knowledge of fundamental mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical coupling properties of a single-domain state. In this work, the elastic properties and structural parameters of cubic single crystals as well as tetragonal, orthorhombic, and rhombohedral BaTiO3 single domain states are obtained using first-principles calculations under the local density approximation. The calculated lattice constants, bulk modulus, and elastic constants are in good agreement with experiments for both the cubic paraelectric phase and the low-temperature ferroelectric phases. Spontaneous polarizations for all three ferroelectric phases and the electrostrictive coefficients of cubic BaTiO3 are also computed using the Berry’s phase approach, and the results agree well with existing experimentally measured values.
