TL;DR: In this paper, a new approach as PLA coating of sisal fibres has been used to overcome the limitations of natural fibres and its polymer based composites, and the results revealed that composite with PLA coated sisal fiber showed better mechanical performance than alkali treated and untreated sisal composites.

TL;DR: In this paper, a linear flow model based on Darcy's law was used in the experiment to measure the permeability of sisal textile and the Kozeny constant was calculated through experimental results.
Abstract: In this paper, a linear flow model based on Darcy's law was used in the experiment to measure permeability of sisal textile. The Kozeny–Carman equation was employed to predict the permeability of sisal textile and the Kozeny constant was calculated through experimental results. Both experimental and predicted permeability values of sisal textiles were compared. Effects of fiber surface treatments and fiber volume fraction on the permeability of sisal textile were also studied in this research. Comparisons of mechanical properties of sisal-textile-reinforced composites manufactured by different processing technologies were made.

TL;DR: The potential of sisal (Agave sp.) as an important plant resource has not so far been fully exploited in our country as discussed by the authors, and preliminary investigations indicate that there is a great scope for the development of Sisal based technologies for rural and engineering applications.
Abstract: The tremendous potential of sisal (Agave sp.) as an important plant resource has not so far been fully exploited in our country. Sisal leaves yield quality fibres, which are utilized for conventional purposes like ropes, anchors, cordage and handicrafts. The superior engineering properties of sisal makes it an excellent green material for its application in major sectors like marine, automotive, construction and renewable energy etc. Preliminary investigations indicate that there is a great scope for the development of sisal based technologies for rural and engineering applications. The sisal fibre and its allied activities could augment employment opportunities for income generation in rural sector, whereas its engineering applications can generate substantial employment potential in semi-urban and urban areas. New opportunities for the use of sisal fibre as a reinforcing fibre in commodity papers potentially offers large markets and employment generation for rural area people in India.

TL;DR: In this article, mechanical attributes of sisal fiber-strengthened polyester material have been carried out with differing the fiber volume division of 10:4 and 10:5% separately.
Abstract: In this effort, mechanical attributes of sisal fiber-strengthened polyester material have been carried out with differing the fiber volume division of 10:4 and 10:5% separately. These outcomes show that the including of sisal fiber composites expanding the malleable, flexural, impact and hardness. The mechanical characteristics of sisal fiber composite material outcomes are contrasted and unsaturated polyester composites. The flexural and effect qualities accomplished from the sisal composites are up to 13.5% and 13.6 separately. The morphological examination of the sisal fiber composite example was breaking down through scanning electron microscopy (SEM). This sisal fiber mechanical outcome is additionally corresponded to the past work results.
