TL;DR: In this article, an experimental analysis has been carried out to investigate the mechanical properties of composites reinforced by sisal, coir, and banana fibres into epoxy resin matrix.
Abstract: An experimental analysis has been carried out to investigate the mechanical properties of composites reinforced by sisal, coir, and banana fibres into epoxy resin matrix. The natural fibres were extracted by retting and manual processes. The composites fabricated by epoxy resin and reinforcement in the hybrid combination of Sisal-Banana and Sisal-Coir with the volume fraction of fibres varying from 5% to 30%. It has been identified that the mechanical properties increase with the increase of volume fraction of fibres to a certain extent and then decreases. The hybridization of the reinforcement in the composite shows greater mechanical properties when compared to individual type of natural fibres reinforced. For all the composites tested, the tensile strength of the composite increased up to 25% of volume fraction of the fibres and further for the increase in the volume fraction of fibre the mechanical properties were decreased. As same as tensile properties, the flexural and impact strength also increased linearly up to 25% of volume fraction of fibres and further for the increase in the volume fraction of fibre the mechanical properties were slightly decreased. Key Words: Sisal, Banana, Coir, Epoxy, Hybrid composite.

TL;DR: In this article, the utility model discloses a four-stranded sisal core, which consists of four sisal yarn strands and one central fine Sisal yarn strand and is twisted and wrapped symmetrically.
Abstract: The utility model discloses a four-stranded sisal core, which comprises four sisal yarn strands and one central fine sisal yarn strand, wherein the four sisal yarn strands are positioned around the central fine sisal yarn strand and then twisted and wrapped symmetrically The four-stranded sisal core has the advantages of simple structure and convenience in use Due to the structure of twisting and wrapping the four sisal yarn strands around the central fine sisal yarn strand, the supporting strength of the sisal core is strengthened and the service life of a sisal-core steel wire rope adopting the structure is prolonged

TL;DR: In this article, a high-strength concrete building block consisting of polystyrene granules, fibers, polymers and a water reducing agent is presented, where the fiber lengths of polypropylene fibers are controlled to be within 10mm and 15mm.
Abstract: The invention provides a high-strength concrete building block, which comprises polystyrene granules, fibers, polymers and a water reducing agent, wherein the particle sizes of the polystyrene granules are 2-6mm and the apparent density of the polystyrene granules is 15kg/m ; the fibers are made from vegetable sisal hemp and polypropylene fibers, the lengths of fibers are controlled to be within 10mm and 15mm, and according to the common specification of the adding amount of concrete, 1kg/m of the sisal hemp, as well as 1kg/m of polypropylene and 0.8kg/m of polypropylene are respectively adopted in experiments; the polymers are prepared from water-soluble epoxy resin and a curing agent according to the ratio of 4 to 1, the adding amount of the water-soluble epoxy resin and the adding amount of the curing agent are respectively 0.5% and 0.125% of the doping mass of a cementing material; the water reducing agent is an MN-II type water reducing agent, wherein the water reducing rate is 20% and the participating-in amount is 0.5%. The high-strength concrete building block is high in strength and is relatively slightly influenced by an external environment.

TL;DR: In this paper, a fiber reinforced composite with natural vegetable fiber (NVF) as reinforcer and plasticizied natural vellum fiber as matrix was studied, which not only exhibits properties similar to those of conventional fiber composite, but also is cheap and friendly to environment.
Abstract: A novel fiber reinforced composite with natural vegetable fiber(NVF) as reinforcer and plasticizied natural vegetable fiber as matrix was studied.By means of cyanoethylation and chlorination, wood sawdust was converted into thermoplastic material and then compounded with short sisal fibers. The all-natural fiber composite not only exhibits properties similar to those of conventional fiber composite, but also is cheap and friendly to environment.
