Abstract: This paper proposes a procedure,for obtaining the load distribution in a four contact-point slewing bearing considering the effect of the structure's elasticity. The uneven stiffness of the rings and the supporting structures creates a variation with respect to the results obtained with a rigid model. It is necessary to evaluate the effect of the elasticity on the increase in the contact forces in order to be able to design the slewing bearing and the structures involved in the connection. Depending on the shape of the structures, the contact force value obtained on the most loaded rolling element is different. The evaluation of this maximum force at extreme loads is essential to design the structures joined to the bearing rings. The new elastic model presented in this paper is highly nonlinear so iterative loops are needed in order to obtain a satisfactory solution. At the same time a finite element model (FEM) has been created for the global model, having also represented the rolling elements and their contact with the raceways. The results obtained using the FEM have been correlated with the results of the new procedure.

Abstract: This paper presents a calculation of the general static load-carrying capacity of four-contact-point slewing bearings under axial, radial, and tilting-moment loads. This calculation is based on a generalization of Sjovall and Rumbarger’s equations and provides an acceptance surface in the load space. This acceptance surface provides a solid basis to compute acceptance curves for the design and selection of bearings of this kind.

Abstract: The carrying capability and the service life of a four-point-contact slewing bearing are influenced significantly by its raceway geometry parameters. In this paper, the carrying capability is characterized by the maximal contact stress in the paper. The usual industry practice is to specify the service life as the L10 life. The geometry parameters, cross section clearance, ratio of curvatures, rolling ball diameter, and initial contact angle, are also considered. The sensitivity of each parameter influencing the carrying capability and the service life is discussed as well. The results show an interesting phenomenon, indicating that the maximal contact load and the maximal stress do not always have the same varying trend when discussed parameters vary. The developed design can be utilized as a reference for an optimal slewing bearing design. If a slewing bearing of high static carrying capability is required, it can be designed with large ratio of curvatures and rolling ball diameter. In terms of service life, the cross section clearance and the initial contact load should also be considered.

The multi-row ball type slewing bearing comprises an outer ring 1, an inner ring 2 and steel balls 3 and is characterized in that the inner annular surface of the outer ring 1 is provided with at least three rows of inner raceways at intervals according to a certain size; the outer annular ring of the inner ring 2 is also provided with at least three rows of raceways which correspond to the inner raceways of the outer ring; the inner raceways and the outer raceways are in the same shape, and corresponding raceways form complete steel ball raceways; and the steel balls 3 are evenly distributed in each row of steel ball raceway and separated by insulating blocks 6 or solid retainers 7. The multi-row ball type slewing bearing has three or over three rows of bearing rollers, thereby having high bearing capacity. Meanwhile, because the slew bearing needs less materials due to compact structure, thereby having good economic performance. Abstract: This paper deals with fretting wear of blade bearings considering working conditions. The cause of fretting wear in blade bearing is analyzed and an improvement is proposed to evaluate the design of the bearing in the paper. Result from the test proves that the method of controlling fretting wear is satisfactory. Reference value of clearance in blade bearing can be obtained from the test result.

Abstract: A slewing bearing assembly effective to suppress additional expenses such as a mold cost and to resolve the problem associated with insufficient strength brought about by voids and, also, a rotation section support apparatus for a wind powered turbine are provided. The slewing bearing assembly includes inner and outer rings having raceway grooves, and a plurality of balls interposed between the raceway grooves, and a spacer interposed between the neighboring balls. This slewing bearing assembly is a four point contact ball bearing, in which respective sectional shapes of the raceway grooves are so shaped as to represent shapes in which each balls contacts inner surfaces of the raceway grooves in the inner and outer rings at four points. The spacer is made of a resinous material having a melt viscosity within the range of 1000 to 2000 Pa·s at a temperature of 270° C.

Abstract: Slewing ring with negative clearance is used as blade bearing in wind turbine. Negative clearance dramatically increase contact forces between balls and raceways. Existing methods for calculating loads between raceway and balls in four contact-point slewing ring suppose that the raceways are rigid and only assume elastic deformations of rolling elements. Experiments show that negative clearance dramatically increase contact forces between balls and raceways, and these forces make elastic deformations in rings of blade bearing. This paper investigates the relation between negative clearance and contact stress. A computation model for blade bearing without external load but considering elasticity of rings in computation is established and solve methods are discussed.

The load distribution over raceways is the fundament to calculate both the static and dynamic capability of a slewing bearing. The paper discussed a method for calculating the load distribution in an 8-point-contact slewing bearing under general load conditions (turnover moment, axial load and radial load). Based on the method, some suggestions were proposed for optimization of the slewing bearing design.

The pressing unit is installed by pressing a seal supplied from the exterior to the sealing installation position toward the sealing installation position as the first ring and the second ring are relatively rotated. Abstract: The utility model discloses a photovoltaic automatic reversing chassis capable of pitching, which comprises a base, wherein a slewing bearing is transversely arranged on the base; and two upright posts of a battery board bracket are vertically arranged on an inner gear ring of the slewing bearing. A motor, a speed reducer, a driving gear and a controller are vertically arranged on the base; and the driving gear is meshed with an inner gear ring gear of the slewing bearing to do horizontal motion. One of the two upright posts of the battery board support is vertically provided with a photovoltaic rotating drive and the other upright post is vertically provided with a bearing; a long transverse shaft horizontally passes through the rotating drive and the bearing; and two ends of the long transverse shaft are connected with support lugs of the battery board. The rotating drive drives the long transverse shaft to vertically rotate for driving a solar panel and the bracket for doing the pitching rotation. Since the technology of tracking the sun by using the horizontal and pitching compound rotation, the photoelectricity conversion efficiency is the highest; and in addition, the utility model is particularly suitable for low-latitude zones with huge raising and decreasing angle of the sun (except an equatorial zone) and large and medium-sized photovoltaic generation enterprises to select.
