Abstract: The invention relates to a method of servicing wind turbines having a hub containing a slewing ring bearing to which a rotor blade is fastened such that the pitch angle is adjustable. The rotor blade is brought into a position pointing vertically downward, lowered by means of threaded rods and hoisting means and attached suspendingly to the hub. The slewing ring bearing is then turned. The rotor blade is then hoisted again and fastened to the slewing ring bearing.

Abstract: During the operation, a slewing bearing is always subjected to a set of combined loads. It is the source of deformation of ballraceway contacts, rings, and even supporting structures. In practice, deformation of rings and supporting structures is often neglected for simplification, that is, they are supposed to be ideally stiff. To take elasticity of rings and supporting (fixed) structures into consideration, the finite-element method (FEM) is applied. Due to hundreds of contact pairs and the difference in the scale of contact area and rings or supporting structures, it is difficult to simultaneously model both local ballraceway contacts and the global slewing rings in a slewing bearing. The article developed a simple method to solve the problem, where the contacts are replaced by non-linear springs.

Abstract: Large slewing bearing is a special kind of rolling bearing with heavy load and very low rotation speed. It is important to carry out faults monitoring on this kind of rolling bearing. However, it is difficult to carry out vibration monitoring on such large slewing bearing. The running conditions of slewing bearings of ship loader and stacking crane in Qinghuangdao Port were analyzed using ferrography and spectrometric analysis technology. Monitoring results showed that the slewing bearing of SL-Q1 ship loader was under abnormal wear condition. Further inspection indicated that the rolling elements of this bearing underwent severe wear and broke down. This suggested that it was feasible to evaluating the wear conditions of this type of large low-speed heavy-load rolling bearing using ferrography and spectrometric analysis.

Abstract: In slewing bearings, a great number of contact pairs are present on the contact surfaces between the rolling elements and raceways of the bearing. Computations to determine the load of the individual rolling elements, taking into account the flexibility of the bearing ring, are most often carried out using the finite element method. Construction of a FEM full model of the bearing, taking into account the shape of the rolling elements and the determination of the contact problem for every rolling element, leads to a singularity of stiffness matrix, which in turn makes the problem impossible to solve. In FEM models the rolling elements are replaced by one-dimensional finite elements (linear elements) to simplify the computation procedure and to obtain an optimal time for computations. The methods of modelling the rolling elements in the slewing bearing, in which balls have been replaced by truss elements with a material non-linear characteristic located between the raceway centres of the curvatures in their axial section, are presented in the paper.

The multifunctional stringing and poling machine is mechanical equipment for power grid stringing construction and combines the functions of drilling and poling. The whole machine adopts an electrohydraulic control mode and is especially suitable for emergency repair when the power grid suffers from natural disasters and in the places of rugged and narrow terrain which are difficult for engineering vehicles to enter. The multifunctional stringing and poling machine is more suitable for the environment with larger poling operation density.

Abstract: It’s very important to monitor the mechanical condition of portal crane for the device safety management. According to the characters of portal crane, a wireless monitoring system of the mechanical condition has been designed in the paper, including the status of metal structure, slewing bearing and speed reducer. The system has solved the temperature drift, zero point setting and other problems of metal structure testing, and GPRS DTUs are used as the core component of the sensors to transfer data to Internet. The monitoring system has the advantages such as simple structure, high precision, low price and great expandability, which has huge application potentiality for the device safety management of Port Company.

The slewing bearing mechanism of worm wheel and worm gear has the advantages: the worm wheel is combined with the rotation bearing and the outer ring of the slewing bearing is made into worm wheel type to form a novel slewing bearing mechanism of worm wheel and worm gear. The slewing bearing mechanism of worm wheel and worm gear has the characteristics that the structure is compact; the occupied space is small; a 363 DEG slewing motion can be easily fulfilled; and the mechanism is suitable for the work condition of low speed and heavy load.

Abstract: Most wind turbine gearboxes and pitch/yaw reducers consist of several planetary geartrains. Planetary geartrains allow gearboxes to be small, light, low noise, and efficient. The most important factors in the planetary geartrain design are load sharing among the planet gears and load distribution on the gear tooth flank. This study was conducted to analyze the load sharing and distribution in reducers with and without a slewing bearing. Load sharing and distribution of a pitch reducer without a slewing bearing were very uniform and even. However, in the other case, they were non-uniform and uneven, and the gear meshes were formed on the right or left. These results show that heavy loads act on the right or left flank of a meshed gear pair and reduce the gear life. Therefore, the slewing bearing must be considered when pitch/yaw reducers are designed and analyzed.

The structure is structurally characterized by comprising a trolley, a gantry structure, a crawler operation mechanism, a power source, a hydraulic system and an electric apparatus, wherein the trolley can move horizontally along the X direction of a main beam through a trolley frame and a trolley track; the main beam is provided with a support leg; the lower end of the support leg is connected with the two ends of a lower cross beam; a lower flange of the lower cross beam is welded at the lower end of the lower cross beam, the lower end of the lower cross beam is connected with an inner ring bolt of a slewing bearing; and a structural flange of a chassis structure is connected with an outerring bolt of the slewing bearing. The chassis structure is provided with a crawler and drives the equipment to move horizontally along the Y direction so as to ensure spatial three-dimensional operation of the load and meet the need for linear or curved layout of the reactor of a nuclear power plant.

Abstract: This paper deals with calculation procedure for lifetime determination of a large three-row roller slewing bearing. First, the contact force distribution between the rollers and the bearing raceway is determined both analytically and numerically. Then, the position and the magnitude of the maximum contact force are identified. In a separate numerical model finite element analyses are performed to determine the subsurface stress distribution as the result of contact between the raceway and different rollers. These stress fields serve as an input for the fatigue lifetime calculation, which is done in accordance with the stress-life approach (S-N). At the end the influence of roller geometry on the calculated fatigue life is presented.

Those characteristics with characteristic of capacity for bearing about rigid rings have been compared.

A motor provides input power; a shaft sleeve of the motor drives a primary sun gear by the aid of a transmission shaft; the primary sun gear is connected with a primary planetary gear; the primary planetary gear meshes with a primary inner gear ring; the primary planetary gear adopts duplex gears; a primary planet carrier is connected with a secondary sun gear; the secondary sun gear meshes with a secondary planetary gear; the secondary planetary gear meshes with a secondary inner gear ring; a secondary planet carrier is connected with a tail-end output shaft; and the tail-end output shaft is provided with a gear meshing with a slewing bearing. A plurality of parts of the novel duplex-gear slewing mechanism are integrated, so that the mechanism is more compact and reasonable and smaller in volume. The primary planetary gear adopts the duplex gears, so that reduction ratio is increased and output torque is improved within strength allowed by the mechanism. For some slewing mechanisms of specific types, three-stage transmission is even converted into two-stage transmission, and accordingly the volume and the weight of the mechanism is decreased more, so that the mechanism is more compact, and cost is reduced.
