Abstract: A multifunctional all-terrain walking-type hydraulic excavator includes a multifunctional working apparatus ( 2 ), a cab ( 3 ), a slew assembly ( 4 ), a slewing bearing ( 6 ), and a walking-type chassis ( 5 ). By means of a hydraulic capstan ( 5.9 ) arranged at the forward end of the chassis ( 5 ), the excavator is able to perform self-rescue and towing assistance. The walking-type chassis ( 5 ) adapts to terrain through adjustments of the swing angles of the forward and rear legs ( 5.2, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6 ) and thus is able to walk and operate in difficult terrain.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for suppling non-hydraulic power to a tool unit during well operation. A top drive (4) supplies power to a power consumer of the tool unit (200) with a non-hydraulic power supply: a mechanical power coupling from the top drive to the tool unit, a wireless power coupling from the top drive to the tool unit, a local power supply on the tool unit, and/or combinations thereof. The non-hydraulic power supply may be capable of supplying at least 2kW for at least 10s. The system may include a fixed gear (450) coupled to the top drive, a slewing ring (460) meshed to the fixed gear, and a revolving gear (470) meshed with the slewing ring and coupled to the tool unit. The slewing ring is configured to transfer rotational force from the fixed gear to the revolving gear, and may be rotated by rotating a torque shaft or actuating the fixed gear.

Abstract: Fuel and other subassemblies in fast breeder reactor are handled through a combination of small rotatable plug, large rotatable plug and transfer arm. Rotation of the plugs is facilitated through large slewing bearings. These bearings are subjected to heavy loads and moments. Manufacturing errors on the rolling elements and races influence the load sharing among the elements. As a result, higher load acting on a rolling element causes excessive local deformation and unacceptable indentation. The higher load can also cause excessive sub-surface shear stress and fatigue failure of rolling races. Too stringent tolerances demand sophisticated machines, whereas liberal tolerances mean compromise on the performance and life of the bearing. There are no established methods for design of slewing bearings that include the influence of manufacturing errors. Abstract: Backup Bearings (BuB) must be designed to withstand the shock loads which occur during impacts with heavy and/or high-speed rotors. Both experimental testing and transient dynamic simulation are necessary for the study of BuB performance. This paper presents the transient dynamic simulation methodology developed within SIEMENS for the study of full-scale rotor landings in rolling element BuBs. The developed models were validated with a substantial landing program led and performed by SIEMENS, whose objective was to qualify the safe operation of hybrid rolling element BuBs for an industrial application utilizing an AMB-levitated 9 ton supercritical motor. The paper describes the BuB model, summarizes the simulation results and offers a comparison to experimental measurements from the aforementioned successful landing tests program.

Abstract: A method and an arrangement for removing and lifting of a blade pitch slewing ring bearing of a wind turbine after a blade from a rotor hub of the wind turbine is removed, is disclosed. The arrangement and method enables the lowering and lifting of the wind turbine without the need of large and heavy cranes so that the replacement can be carried out cost effectively. The arrangement includes a first pulley mounted at the bottom of the wind turbine, a second pulley mounted inside a rotor hub, a lifting line running over the first pulley, the second pulley and further over a third pulley mounted inside a carrier. The carrier supports the blade pitch slewing ring bearing during lifting and lowering which is achieved through a coordinated operation of a ground winch, the lifting line and tag lines. Further, rigging equipment is attached to the lowered blade pitch slewing ring bearing to enable easy transportation.

Abstract: In the paper the basic design features and essentia l assumption of calculation models as well as the f actors influencing quality improvement and improvement of calcula tion process of bearing capacity of rolling slewing bearings are discussed. The aim of conducted research is the identi fication and elimination of sources of errors in de termining the characteristics of slewing bearing capacity. The result of the research aims atdeterminingthe risk of making mist akes and specifying tips for designers of slewing bearings. It is shown that ere is a necessity fora numerical method to be a pplied and that real conditions of bearing work must necessarily be taken int o account e.g. carrying structure deformations as t he first ones.

Abstract: Critical failure of a slewing bearing used in large machines would entail high costs to an enterprise. Designing the condition monitoring system to diagnose the failure or predict the residual life of the slewing bearing is a practical and effective method to reduce unexpected stoppage or optimize the maintenances. Many literatures mentioned the life prediction of small typical rolling bearings based on the vibration signal. However slewing bearing is a large low-speed heavy-load bearing completely different from small bearing. Some researchers focused on the fault diagnosis of slewing bearing using non-traditional methods with vibration signals. And no published literatures mention the life prediction researches of slewing bearings based on the condition monitoring. Therefore, this paper presents a residual life model for slewing bearing based on multiple physical signals (torque, temperature and vibration). The correlation analysis and principal component analysis (PCA) based multiple sensitive features in time-domain were used to establish the performance recession indicators of temperature, torque and vibration, and these three indicators are input to the support vector regression (SVR) to construct the residual life model. The test results show that the PCA fusion combined correlation based features selection is an effective method of choosing the performance regression indicators, which is able to make full use of various features. The residual life prediction model based on temperature, torque and vibration signals can well reflect the performance recession trend and is suitable to predict the residual life of slewing bearing effectively.

Abstract: Mechanical model with detailed design parameters of a rotor slewing bearing with the structure type of double-row tapered roller for supporting the rotor of the wind turbine was presented. The internal geometrical relationships of the rotor slewing bearing were established in the Cartesian coordinate system. The elastic contact deformations between each tapered roller and the raceways were expressed through the geometrical transformation. The mechanical model was established using the equilibrium relations in the rotor slewing bearing. The safety factor and the fatigue life which represents, respectively, the ability of resisting the rolling contact plastic deformation failure and the rolling contact fatigue failure of the rotor slewing bearing were obtained based on the solution of the mechanical model. Effects of the detailed design parameters such as axial clearance, contact angle, and roller semi-cone angle on the carrying capacity of the rotor slewing bearing were analyzed. The results show that right amount of small negative axial clearance, increase in contact angle, and decrease in roller semi-cone angle are advantageous for enhancing the carrying capacity of the rotor slewing bearing. This provides the basis for the reasonable value selection of the design parameters of the double-row tapered roller slewing bearing for supporting the rotor of the wind turbine.

The bottom of the front end of the vehicle frame assembly is rotationally connected with the upper portion of the front steering walking mechanism through the front slewing bearing, and the bottom of the rear end of the vehicle frame assembly is rotationally connected with the upper portion of the rear steering walking mechanism through the rear slewing bearing.
