TL;DR: In this article, a three-dimensional finite element model for the high duty bolted joint was developed to reflect the bolt behavior and developed the finite element calculation method for static strength, fatigue strength and related stresses of bolt.
Abstract: By reasonable assumption and considering the friction, contact, preload intensity, load eccentricity, bolt bending, and other nonlinear factors, we establish three-dimensional finite element model for the high duty bolted joint to reflect the bolt behavior and develop the finite element calculation method for static strength, fatigue strength and related stresses of bolt. By this method, we do numerous numerical simulation experiments to study the effects of preload intensity, support plate thickness on the bolt behavior. These results will guide designer to complete the slewing bearing design effectively and accurately, and these research ideas can be well applied to bolted joints study in other devices.

Abstract: The utility model discloses a slewing bearing which comprises an outer ring (11) which is provided with meshing teeth, an inner ring (12) and a rolling piece (13) which is arranged between the outer ring (11) and the inner ring (12). A through hole (11a) is formed in the outer ring (11). The through hole (11a) penetrates through the outer ring (11) along the height direction of the outer ring (11), wherein the upper end face of the through hole (11a) is lower than the upper end face of the outer ring (11). The utility model further discloses a slewing device for engineering machinery wherein the slewing device comprises the slewing bearing. The installing face of a bolt of the slewing bearing is low, and therefore the head portion of the bolt can not be interfered with a slewing platform when the outer ring of the slewing bearing is installed on a car frame through the bolt.

Abstract: A method of numerical conduct research of phenomena which occur in slewing bearing has been presented in the paper The basic problems concerning technical peculiarity of slewing bearing were defined The object of the analysis was twin slewing bearing for which a model of contact zone ball-raceway was developed Results of calculations which are presented in the paper were obtained by using a model of twin slewing bearing described in a separate publication Nascent conditions of rolling resistance in slewing bearing were specified The paper presents importance of radial forces as a component of the external load of slewing bearing The results of numerical analysis of changing friction torque of twin slewing bearing caused by external load were submitted In especially action of radial forces on the slewing bearing has been taken into account The values of fraction torque were shown on the background of static limiting load curve for the slewing bearing which was considered The original numeric method was used to determine the fraction torque for slewing bearing Calculations were performed by using the finite element method, ADINA program, analytical Eschmann formulas and classical mechanics equations
