TL;DR: There are few studies that have measured the various characteristics of social participation using the ICF as a tool, and assessment tools for participation in daily and social activities were not consensual in the range of areas that needed to be addressed in stroke rehabilitation.
Abstract: Introduction: Stroke is considered one of the leading causes of long-term disability worldwide. Physical, cognitive and psychological disabilities resulting from stroke can lead to a wide variety of activity limitations and participations restrictions. Objective: To verify the incidence of articles in the literature that used physiotherapy programs aimed at social participation and to analyze if these programs are based on domains of the International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health (ICF) in post-stroke people. Method: It was selected any type of study that presented post-stroke human sample over 18 years of age with no gender restriction, to be written in any language and year of publication, to have used physical rehabilitation as a form of treatment and social participation assessed by ICF as outcome. The descriptors and Boolean operators: stroke, rehabilitation, International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health, social participation, were used in the sample search strategy in database PEDro, PubMed, Web of Science and Scielo. Results: After applying the inclusion/exclusion criteria, five articles remaining. Assessment tools for participation in daily and social activities were not consensual in the range of areas that needed to be addressed in stroke rehabilitation. A single study used the ICF-based design model in its program. Conclusion: There are few studies that have measured the various characteristics of social participation using the ICF as a tool. More studies are needed to create an ideal standardization and strategy that direct interventions to improve specific aspects of social participation, including the involvement in activities that provide post-stroke individuals interaction with society.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a case study of the spatial and temporal variations in social wellbeing in the state of Georgia and assess the equity of state social assistance expenditures, using a factor analysis of socioeconomic data for the 159 counties of Georgia.
Abstract: Studies of territorial social well-being and of "welfare geography" have mostly appeared over the last decade. (J ) The aim of such studies has been to describe spatial patterns of social welfare and to examine both the reasons for social inequalities and the effects of policies designed to ameliorate them. (2) The twofold purpose of this paper is to present a case study ofthe spatial and temporal variations in social wellbeing in the state of Georgia, and to try to assess the equity of state social assistance expenditures. A factor analysis of socioeconomic data for the 159 counties of Georgia for both 1950 and 1970 provides the measure of social well-being used in the study and forms the index of need with which social assistance expenditures will be compared. LITERATURE REVIEW. Research in social well-being and quality of life is relatively new. Although early works on the topic do exist, (3) the widespread growth of material on the subject has been confined to the last decade. The origins of what has been called the "Social Indicators Movement" lie in the need to facilitate the measurement of social progress in a manner complementary to existing economic monitors. (4) Early work concentrated on methodology and the definition of social indicators (5) and on problems of terminology and definition. (6) The latter differentiates between social well-being and quality oflife. Social well-being can be measured by social indicators, which are the observable incidence of phenomena that reflect general conditions such as income levels or housing condition. Quality of life also includes intangible phenomena quantifiable only by the individual, such as job satisfaction, community participation, and cultural enhancement.
