TL;DR: In this paper, a hot galvanized strip, plate or other ferrous metal workpiece is moved continuously from a cooling tower, and while at a temperature within a range of about 130° to 180° F, its zinc coating surfaces are subjected to the application of a white rust inhibiting master aqueous chemical treating solution.
Abstract: A hot galvanized strip, plate or other ferrous metal workpiece is moved continuously from a cooling tower, and while at a temperature within a range of about 130° to 180° F. its zinc coating surfaces are subjected to the application of a white rust inhibiting master aqueous chemical treating solution. The solution forms a substantially transparent protective film on the coating surfaces that is adherent thereto. The solution contains the compounds and reaction products of two solutions as mixed together, one of which is made up of sodium dichromate dissolved in and reacted with ethylene glycol and the other of which is made of potassium dichromate dissolved in and reacted with ethylene glycol.

TL;DR: In this paper, the isotopic content of C-methyl groups in selected tritium and deuterium labeled compounds by modification of the Kuhn-Roth method is presented.
Abstract: The determination of the isotopic content of C-methyl groups in selected tritium and deuterium labeled compounds by modification of the Kuhn-Roth method is presented. Oxidation of the deuterated or tritiated compound using a solution of sodium dichromate and sulfuric acid at 50–85°C allows isotopic assay of the C-methyl group as acetic acid.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for treating fly ash of a chromic salt rotary kiln was proposed, which comprises the steps of subjecting fly ash to slurrying, filtering and washing so as to obtain soda ash and a sodium chromate solution.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for treating fly ash of a chromic salt rotary kiln. The method comprises the steps of: 1) subjecting fly ash to slurrying, filtering and washing so as to obtain soda ash and a sodium chromate solution; 2) conducting pressurized carbonization to the soda ash and the sodium chromate solution, then carrying out filtering so as to obtain a sodium bicarbonate sedimentand a sodium chromate filtering solution; 3) filtering the obtained sodium bicarbonate sediment and drying it, then returning the sediment to the chromic salt rotary kiln for batching, and leaving the obtained sodium chromate filtering solution to flow into a sodium dichromate production line. The method of the invention can fully recover useful components (soda ash, chromite and sodium chromate)in the fly ash of a chromic salt rotary kiln, and realize comprehensive utilization of fly ash.

TL;DR: The profile control agent used for the oil field is composed of oil filed sewage containing hydrogen sulphide, a polymer and sodium dichromate, and the added amount of the polymer is 1500mg/L as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The invention relates to a profile control agent used for an oil field. The profile control agent used for the oil field is composed of oil filed sewage containing hydrogen sulphide, a polymer and sodium dichromate, concentration of the oil field sewage containing hydrogen sulphide is 0.1-20mg/L, added amount of sodium dichromate is 30-50mg/L, the added amount of the polymer is 1500mg/L; when the concentration of sewage containing hydrogen sulphide in the oil field is 20-50mg/L, the sewage is aerated, and when hydrogen sulphide content is reduced to 0.1-20mg/L, 30-50mg/L sodium dichromate and 1500mg/L polymer are added. The profile control agent used for the oil field solves the problems that the sewage containing hydrogen sulphide can not be utilized for preparing a profile control agent taking the polymer as a main agent and gel can not be formed when the profile control agent is prepared by utilizing the sewage containing hydrogen sulphide in the prior art, working concentration of sodium dichromate is reduced, and no reducing agent component such as thiourea is needed to be used.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for the utilization of vanadium and chromium contained in vanadium-chromium slags is described, which comprises the following steps: a. obtaining mixture of slags with calcined soda and aluminum salt, from which granules are obtained, b. annealing granules containing vanadium, chromium slag, resulting in granules of sintered material; c. obtaining granules for water leaching and subsequent separation of leached suspension into solid substance and liquid.
Abstract: FIELD: metallurgy.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of vanadium and chromium, particularly to utilization of vanadium and chromium contained in vanadium-chrome slags. Method comprises the following steps: a. obtaining mixture of slags with calcined soda and aluminum salt, from which granules are obtained, b. annealing granules containing vanadium-chromium slag, resulting in granules of sintered material; c. obtaining granules of sintered material for water leaching and subsequent separation of leached suspension into solid substance and liquid, resulting in obtaining a solution containing vanadium and chromium, and residues; d. adding calcium oxide to precipitate vanadium for time of 50 to 120 minutes, and obtaining unrefined calcium vanadate and a chromium-containing solution; e. obtaining purified calcium vanadate and flushing water containing vanadium and chromium; wherein washing water containing vanadium and chromium is used for leaching burnt sintered material; f. obtaining sodium dichromate from a chromium-containing solution through carbonization and using a byproduct, sodium bicarbonate, as a sodium-containing additive during vanadium-chrome slag burning.EFFECT: effective utilization of vanadium and chromium from slags.6 cl, 3 ex
