Abstract: A new spot test for palladium using Erioglaucine A, Eriogreen B, Xylenecyanol FF, Setoglaucine 0, Setocyanine Supra, Fast Green FCF, Methylene Blue. Thionine, or Methyl Orange is described. The method consists in treating one drop of the palladium salt solution with 2 to 2.8 ml of saturated sodium hypophosphite solution and 0.1 ml of 0.01% dye solution, making the total volume 3 ml and keeping the mixture in a boiling water bath. The color of the dye is discharged in 5 to 9 seconds in the case of the first six dyes and immediately in the case of the other dyes. The identification limits lie between 0.003 and 0.06μg in 3 ml and the dilution limits vary from 1∶5·107 to 1∶109 depending upon the dye that is employed. Iodide and most metals do not interfere in the test; alkalis and acidity beyond 0.1N decrease the sensitivity of the test.

Abstract: Belonging to the technical field of surface treatment technologies, the invention provides a high hydrogen sulfide resistant and high wear-resistant environment-friendly type Ni-P-W-Mo quaternary alloy plating solution. Per liter of the plating solution comprises: 28-35g of nickel sulfate or nickel chloride, 35-44g of sodium hypophosphite, 11-15g of sodium acetate, 8-9ml of lactic acid, 12-15g of DL malic acid, 5-7g of succinic acid, 0.2-0.4ml of a brightening agent, 0.1-0.2ml of a complexing agent, 0.08-0.12ml of a stabilizer, and the balance water. The plating solution realizes chemical plating of W-Mo quaternary alloy, an also, except a main salt, the used materials all adopt food additives as attached salts. And there exists no heavy metal ion environmental pollution.

Abstract: The invention provides activating solution for chemical plating. The activating solution for the chemical plating is aqueous solution comprising cuprous halide, haloid acid, sodium hypophosphite, ethylene glycol and pyridine compounds, wherein the halogen element in the haloid acid is the same as that in the cuprous halide. The invention also provides a method for activating the surface of a non-metallic base material by using the activating solution for the chemical plating, which comprises the step of contacting the non-metallic base material subjected to pretreatment with the activating solution provided by the invention to obtain a non-metallic base material of which the surface is provided with an active center. The activating solution for the chemical plating cannot generate toxic substances when volatilized; and after the non-metallic base material is subjected to activation and chemical plating by using the activating solution for the chemical plating, the plating layer has good adhesion to the base material, and has uniform thickness and smooth surface.

Abstract: A novel biodegradable multifunctional scale and corrosion inhibitor containing carboxylic acid, sulpfonic acid, and phosphonic acid groups was synthesized from the monomers of itaconic acid (IA), sodium allysulfonate (SAS), and sodium hypophosphite (SHP) by oxidation–reduction initiator system. The optimum synthesis conditions were determined by orthogonal experiments. The performances of scale and corrosion inhibition, dispersion, and biodegradability of the IA/SAS/SHP copolymer were studied. The results showed that the IA/SAS/SHP copolymer has good performances of scale and corrosion inhibition, dispersion performance on ferric oxide, and biodegradability. When the concentration of IA/SAS/SHP copolymer was 20 mg/L, the scale inhibition rate was 95.1%. When the concentration of the IA/SAS/SHP copolymer was 60 mg/L, the corrosion rate was 0.02823 mm/a and the corrosion inhibition rate reaches above 90%.
