13 Jan 1984TL;DR: In this article, a process of producing sodium hypophosphite (Na 2 H 2 PO 2 ) is disclosed wherein the yield of the product is increased, and the process comprises increasing the NaOH/P 4 ratio above stoichiometric quantity to from about 2.4 to about 3.0 while maintaining a Ca(OH) 2 /p 4 ratio of above about 1.21.
Abstract: A process of producing sodium hypophosphite (Na 2 H 2 PO 2 ) is disclosed wherein the yield of the product is increased. The process comprises increasing the NaOH/P 4 ratio above stoichiometric quantity to from about 2.4 to about 3.0 while maintaining a Ca(OH) 2 /P 4 ratio of above about 1.21 in the reaction wherein phosphorus, sodium hydroxide, calcium, hydroxide and water are reacted to produce sodium hypophosphite. The invention further comprises a corresponding increase in dilution (H 2 O/P 4 ) to from about 38 to about 60.

TL;DR: A redox polymerization catalyst comprises a water-soluble peroxide compound and phosphorous acid or a water solvable phosphite as discussed by the authors, and the phosphite may be sodium, potassium or ammonium phosphite.
Abstract: A redox polymerization catalyst comprises a water-soluble peroxide compound and phosphorous acid or a water-soluble phosphite. Peroxide compounds specified are hydrogen peroxide, persulphates, percarbonates and perborates. Phosphites specified are sodium, potassium and ammonium phosphites. Monomers polymerized in the examples are acrylonitrile, acrylonitrile with methylacrylate, methyl methacrylate or vinyl acetate in aqueous suspension and methyl acrylate in emulsion with sodium lauryl sulphate. In a comparative example, sodium hypophosphite is used instead of sodium phosphite.ALSO:A catalyst composition comprises a water-soluble peroxidic compound and phosphorous acid or a water-soluble phosphite. Peroxides specified are hydrogen peroxide and alkali metal persulphates, perborates and perphosphates. The phosphite may be sodium, potassium or ammonium phosphite.

TL;DR: In this paper, a copper substrate imitation-silver chemical plating solution containing thiourea and a preparation method and application of thereof is described, which is suitable for copper and copper alloy products, the electroplating industry and all kinds of hardware.
Abstract: The invention relates to a copper substrate imitation-silver chemical plating solution containing thiourea and a preparation method and application thereof. The chemical plating solution is formed by blending methanesulfonate tin, thiourea, glycerol, hydrazine hydrate, sodium hypophosphite, polyethylene glycol, hydroquinone, citric acid and water according to the formula ratio, the potential difference between copper and tin is utilized, tin in the solution is displaced by the cooper and attached to the surface of a copper piece to form a white tin layer with the decorative effect, and the thiourea is used as a formula complexing agent and a stabilizer, so that a good effect is achieved. The preparation method is simple, low in cost, controllable in condition and suitable for copper and copper alloy products, the electroplating industry and all kinds of hardware, and a coated film has good adhesivity and abrasive resistance.
