TL;DR: In this article, the rind of citrus fruits such as mandarin, citrus natsudaidai, etc. is extracted with a solvent and propionic acid and then the solvent is distilled away, to give orange yellow - red brown viscous material.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress occurrence of mold and to protect a feed from mold, by blending the feed with an extract of the rind of citrus fruits with a solvent and propionic acid. CONSTITUTION:The rind of citrus fruits such as mandarin, Citrus natsudaidai, etc. is dried, crushed, and extracted with a solvent. In extraction, given times volume of a solvent such as methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, ether, etc. as the rind by volume is used. After the extraction is over, the solvent is distilled away, to give orange yellow - red brown viscous material. The extract of the rind of citrus fruits is blended with propionic acid derivs., such as propionic acid, calcium propionate, sodium propionate, etc., and the blend is added to a feed or feed additives. Consequently, mold preventive action is increased extremely.

TL;DR: In this article, an alfalfa fresh grass storage additive and a preparation method thereof is presented. The additive is prepared from sodium benzoate, sodium propionate, and water in a weight ratio of (0.38-0.42) to (1.08) to 1.
Abstract: The invention discloses an alfalfa fresh grass storage additive and a preparation method thereof. The additive is prepared from sodium benzoate, sodium propionate and water in a weight ratio of (0.38-0.42) to (0.12-0.08) to 1. The preparation method comprises the following steps: weighing the sodium benzoate, the sodium propionate and the water in a proportion firstly; adding the sodium benzoate and the sodium propionate into the water; uniformly stirring to prepare the alfalfa fresh grass storage additive. Alfalfa silage prepared from the alfalfa fresh grass storage additive has the yellow green color and is delicious in taste, and dairy cow like to eat the alfalfa silage; after the alfalfa silage is stored for half a year, the test analysis shows that the content of ammonia nitrogen and butyric acid is very low, and the nutritive value of the stored alfalfa silage is as the same as that of fresh alfalfa; after the alfalfa is stored for one year, the apparent identification shows that the content of the alfalfa is still in a normal level; alfalfa silage dairy cow feeding tests show that after the dairy cow are fed with the alfalfa silage, the milk production and the feed conversion ratio can be increased; in the test period of the whole three months, tested cow have no bad symptoms and are good in health condition.

TL;DR: In this paper, the molar ratio of propionic acid to chromium sulfate to initiator to water is 2:0.5-0.65:(0.4-1):30.
Abstract: The invention relates to a preparation method of chromium propionate, which comprises the following steps of: (1) adding propionic acid, chromium oxide, an initiator and water into a reaction kettle, and heating while stirring to 70-80 DEG C for reaction; reacting for 6 hours while stirring; and stopping heating to obtain a crystal, wherein the molar ratio of propionic acid to chromium oxide to initiator to water is 2:(0.5-0.65):(0.4-1):30; and (2) separating the crystal to obtain a particular product; and drying and screening in an up-down breathable drying screen to obtain chromium propionate. According to the preparation method provided by the invention, during feeding, sodium propionate is replaced by the propionic acid, chromium sulfate is replaced by the chromium oxide, and the chromium oxide and the initiator are adopted; and the method is convenient to operate, simple and easy to implement and convenient for realizing industrial production, improves the production efficiency and reduces the operation cost.
