TL;DR: In this article, a stabilizing method for Cr-bearing waste slag or Cr polluted soil or a combination of the waste slags and the polluted soil is described. But the method does not need a curing agent, operation is simple, capacity increasing rate is small, cost can be greatly reduced, and long-term stability is good.
Abstract: The invention discloses a stabilizing method for Cr-bearing waste slag or Cr polluted soil or a combination of the Cr waste slag and the Cr polluted soil. The stabilizing method includes the following steps that firstly, the pH value of the Cr-bearing waste slag or the Cr polluted soil is adjusted to 6 to 9; secondly, a reducing agent, an adsorbing agent and a crystal activating agent are added into a mixture obtained in the first step, the water content is adjusted to 20% to 40%, and even stirring is conducted; thirdly, a precipitating agent is added into a mixture obtained in the second step, even stirring is conducted, and airtight curing is conducted; in the second step, the reducing agent is one or a combination of ferrous sulfide, sodium metabisulfite and sodium hydrosulfite, the adsorbing agent is clay minerals, and the crystal activating agent is silicon dioxide; and in the third step, the precipitating agent is one or a combination of sodium sulfide and calcium polysulfides. By means of the stabilizing method, a curing agent does not need to be added, operation is simple, the capacity increasing rate is small, cost can be greatly reduced, and long-term stability is good.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the leaching kinetics of antimony from refractory gold ore in alkaline sodium sulfide under ultrasound and found that the ultrasound can greatly improve the antimony leaching rate, accelerate leaching process and lower temperature and the concentration of sodium hydroxide and sodium sulfides.
Abstract: The leaching kinetics of antimony from refractory gold ore in alkaline sodium sulfide was investigated under ultrasound. The influence of factors such as stirring speed, temperature, the concentration of sodium hydroxide and sodium sulfide and particle size, was studied. The leaching kinetics has also been studied under convention and ultrasound. The experimental data are consistent with the shrinkage core model and the leaching rate is controlled by surface chemical reaction for both ultrasonic and the conventional method. Ultrasound increases the leaching rate of antimony from 81.2% to 93.1%. It can be seen that the rate constant kr of ultrasonic method at various temperatures is larger than that of the conventional method. The ultrasound reduces the apparent activation energy from 48.39 kJ/mol to 33.88 kJ/mol and reduces the apparent response series of sodium sulfide concentration from1.3 to 1.1. Comparing with conventional method, the ultrasound can greatly improve the antimony leaching rate, accelerate the leaching process and lower temperature and the concentration of sodium hydroxide and sodium sulfide. These advantages of ultrasonic method were also confirmed by the SEM analysis of the leached solid.

TL;DR: The silver-impregnated contact lens comprises a lens body formed of a porous matrix in which the silver has at least a proportion of sulfide, halogenide, oxide and or is amorphous.
Abstract: The silver-impregnated contact lens comprises a lens body formed of a porous matrix in which the silver has at least a proportion of sulfide, halogenide, oxide and or is amorphous. The silver, especially in the form of silver nitrate, is diffused into the contact lens and finally is precipitated as silver sulfide, with a sulfur-content compound, especially sodium sulfide.

TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis of metal sulfide semiconductor nanoparticles of group II-VI was carried out in a high energy ball mill from corresponding metal acetates and sodium sulfide.
Abstract: Synthesis of metal sulfide semiconductor nanoparticles of group II-VI; namely ZnS, PbS, CdS, and CuS; by mechanochemical method was carried out in a high energy ball mill from corresponding metal acetates and sodium sulfide. The samples were continuously milled for 10 h with sample withdrawal at 2 h time interval. Structural properties of nanoparticles were studied by x-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and ultraviolet-visible spectra. Particle size distribution and stability of 10 h milled samples were examined using particle size analyzer and Turbiscan. It was found that nanoparticles synthesized by mechanochemical method had mean particle sizes as small as 2–25 nm, low agglomeration, narrow size distribution, and uniformity of particle structure and morphology.
