TL;DR: Chloro terminated poly(phenylene sulfide) (PPS) oligomers and mercapto terminated PPS oligomers have been synthesized separately by changing the molar ratio of p-dichlorobenzene and sodium sulfide, and characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, Raman spectrograph, X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis as discussed by the authors.

TL;DR: Sulfur olefins such as isobutylene which are soluble in hydrotreated oils are prepared by reacting a basic, aqueous alcoholic solution of sodium sulfide with an adduct formed by adding olefin to sulfur monochloride at low temperatures until the mole ratio of OE to SML is between about 1.7-1.9 to 1.
Abstract: Sulfurized olefins such as isobutylene which are soluble in hydrotreated oils are prepared by reacting a basic, aqueous alcoholic solution of sodium sulfide with an adduct formed by adding olefin to sulfur monochloride at low temperatures until the mole ratio of olefin to sulfur monochloride is between about 1.7-1.9 to 1.

TL;DR: In this article, a polystyrene-bound single-onium phase-transfer catalyst was synthesized, and their catalytic activities were investigated in the synthesis of diethyl-2,2,thio diacetate derivatives of thioether.
Abstract: In this work, a new polystyrene-bound single-onium phase-transfer catalyst was synthesized, and their catalytic activities were investigated in the synthesis of diethyl-2,2’-thio diacetate derivatives of thioether. The new insoluble polymer anchored mono-site phase-transfer catalyst showed significant high catalytic activity as compared to soluble single site phase-transfer catalysts. The comparative kinetic investigation reveals that the diethyl-2,2’-thio diacetate of ethyl-2-bromoacetate is faster than sodium sulfide in the presence of the new catalyst. This catalyst can be used several times with consistent catalytic activity. Experimental observations support an interfacial-type mechanism.

TL;DR: In this paper, a transition metal oxide/sulfide nanocube composite material with a core-shell structure has been proposed, which has wide applicability in preparation methods of MOF-based transition metal compounds and has great application prospect in the field of supercapacitors and lithium ion batteries.
Abstract: The invention discloses a preparation method of a transition metal oxide/sulfide nano composite material The preparation method includes: adopting a room-temperature standing method to combine cobalt and nickel transition metal ions with potassium ferricyanide organic ligand to prepare a Prussian blue derivative nanocube; adding sodium sulfide into a water solution for vulcanization reaction to obtain a Prussian blue derivative nanocube with a vulcanized shell; calcining to obtain a MOF-based transition metal oxide/sulfide nanocube composite material with a core-shell structure The transition metal oxide/sulfide nanocube composite material prepared by the method breaks through limitation that most structures of conventional MOF-based composite materials are simple spherical hollow structures, and structure of the composite material is a nanocube with the core-shell structure, so that size is uniform; the composite material has wide applicability in preparation methods of MOF-based transition metal compounds and has great application prospect in the field of supercapacitors and lithium ion batteries

TL;DR: In this protocol, Na2S·9H2O was used as ultimate sulfur source, and 1,2-ethanedithiol functioned as an indispensable catalytic reagent.
Abstract: A copper-catalyzed direct and effective synthesis of aryl thiols from aryl iodides using readily available Na2S·9H2O and 1,2-ethanedithiol was described. A variety of aryl thiols were readily obtained in yields of 76–99%. In this protocol, Na2S·9H2O was used as ultimate sulfur source, and 1,2-ethanedithiol functioned as an indispensable catalytic reagent.
