TL;DR: The Stilbene AZO as mentioned in this paper has shown excellent soluability in COLD WATER by heating P-NITROTOLUENE-O-SULFONIC ACID in the presence of an AQUEOUS CAUSTIC ALKALI and REDUCING the response of the reaction.
Abstract: PRODUCTION OF STILBENE AZO DYES HAVING EXCELLENT SOLUBILITY IN COLD WATER BY HEATING P-NITROTOLUENE-O-SULFONIC ACID IN THE PRESENCE OF AN AQUEOUS CAUSTIC ALKALI AND REDUCING THE RESULTANT REACTION MASS CONSISTING ESSENTIALLY OF 4,4''-DINITRO-2,2''-STILBENE DISULFONIC ACID OR AN ALKALI METAL SALT THEREOF WITH SODIUM SULFIDE IN AMOUNT FROM ABOUT 5 TO 15%, BY WEIGHT, OF THE P-NITROTOLUENE-O-SULFONIC ACID EMPLOYED.

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel chemical approach to prepare the high performance polymer poly(phenylene sulfide sulfone) under mild conditions was presented based on 4,4-difluorodiphenylsulfone and sodium sulfide (Na2S) in i-pmim PF6 (IL)/MImBS (ZI) at atmospheric pressure and compared with conventional methods.
Abstract: A novel chemical approach to prepare the high performance polymer poly(phenylene sulfide sulfone) under mild conditions was presented based on 4,4-difluorodiphenylsulfone and sodium sulfide (Na2S) in i-pmim PF6 (IL)/MImBS (ZI) at atmospheric pressure and compared with conventional methods. The highest molecular weight (2.5 × 104) and yield (>99%) polymers were synthesized in IL/ZI in the presence of sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide at 200 °C for 4 h. ZI can significantly improve solubility of the basic inorganic salt Na2S. And using ILs as solvents made removing toluene by purging with nitrogen much easier and the time was shortened significantly from 5–8 min to 1–2 min. In addition, the ILs can be recycled easily and still possess excellent performance.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of passivation of Hg 1-x Cd x Te and similar semiconductors by surface oxidation (such as anodic) followed by chemical conversion of the oxide to either sulfide or selenide or a combination of both is disclosed.
Abstract: A method of passivation of Hg 1-x Cd x Te and similar semiconductors by surface oxidation (such as anodic) followed by chemical conversion of the oxide to either sulfide or selenide or a combination of both is disclosed. Preferred embodiments provide sulfide conversion by immersion of the oxide coated Hg 1-x Cd x Te in a sodium sulfide solution in water with optional ethylene glycol and the selenidization by immersion in a solution of sodium selenide plus sodium hydroxide in water and ethylene glycol. Also, infrared detectors incorporating such sulfide and selenide passivated Hg 1-x Cd x Te are disclosed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the precipitation conditions on the surface stoichiometry of lead sulfide has not been studied in detail, although there seems to be a general agreement that the surface chemical properties of precipitated lead sulfides depend on the surfaces of the precipitate.
