TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and sodium sulfite were studied on dispersibility, water and oil absorption of soy protein concentrates from toasted soy flours.
Abstract: The effects of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and sodium sulfite were studied on dispersibility, water and oil absorption of soy protein concentrates from toasted soy flours. Dispersibility was improved from 6.2% to 65% by 0.5% SDS, 0.25% sodium sulfite at pH6, and 60°C. Water absorption was improved from 5.5 to 7 mL water/g concentrate by 0.5% SDS at pH 6 at 20°C. Oil absorption was improved from 4.1 to 5.9 mL oil/g concentrate by 0.5% SDS, 0.25% sodium sulfite at pH 6 and 20°C.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for desulfurization and denitration of the tail gas of an internal combustion engine of a ship is described, which is based on the corona catalysis and sodium sulfite.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for desulfurization and denitration of tail gas of an internal combustion engine of a ship. The method comprises the following steps: collecting the tail gas of the internal combustion engine of the ship, inputting the collected tail gas into a water cooling tower, cooling, inputting the cooled gas into a desulfurization tower which is filled with a sodium hydroxide solution, desulfurizing, inputting the desulfurized gas into a corona catalytic reactor, carrying out plasma discharge catalytic oxidation on the desulfurized gas in the corona catalytic reactor, inputting the gas into a denitration tower which is filled with a sodium sulfite solution, denitrating, and discharging a part of the denitrated gas. The invention further discloses a device implementing the method. Sulfur dioxide is removed by adopting a sodium alkali, nitrogen oxides are removed by adopting corona catalysis and sodium sulfite, and smoke generated from corona catalysis is reduced by adopting sodium sulfite generated from desulfurization, thus the purposes of desulfurizing, denitrating and reducing the loading capacity of raw materials and wastes can be achieved.

TL;DR: In this article, a polytherm section in the KVO3−KCl−H2O system was constructed by means of the potentiometric titration method with prior reduction of vanadium ions with sodium sulfite(IV).
Abstract: Solubility of potassium metavanadate and potassium chloride in aqueous solutions within temperature range of 293 K to 323 K was measured employing the isothermal solution saturation method. The vanadium ion concentration was determined using a spectrophotometric method with hydrogen peroxide. The chloride ion concentration was measured by means of the potentiometric titration method with prior reduction of vanadium ions with sodium sulfite(IV). These results were used to the construction of a polytherm section in the KVO3−KCl−H2O system. Additionally, the density interdependence of equilibrium solutions versus both salt concentrations, expressed in mole fractions, is presented.

TL;DR: In this paper, a preparation for external use for skin contains a clay mineral, water and a sulfite, and is kept at pH 5 or less, so that the clay mineral is not limited so long as it swells to form gel when mixed with water and can be incorporated in the preparation.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation for external use for skin, showing excellent characteristics for use, e.g. softness, smoothness and extendability; containing a clay mineral as the base, and showing no temporal discoloration (turning brown) even when containing a clay mineral as the base together with resorcin. SOLUTION: This preparation for external use for skin contains a clay mineral, water and a sulfite, and is kept at pH 5 or less. The clay mineral to be incorporated in the preparation is not limited so long as it swells to form gel when mixed with water and can be incorporated in the preparation. Some examples of the clay minerals include montmorillonite (e.g. Beagum and Kunipia (trade names of montmorillonite)), hectorite (e.g. Raponite (trade name of hectorite)), sericite, kaolin, mica and synthetic mica (e.g. Dimonite (trade name of synthetic mica)). The sulfite to be incorporated in the preparation includes sodium sulfite, potassium sulfite, sodium hydrogen sulfite, potassium hydrogen sulfite, sodium pyrosulfite and potassium pyrosulfite.

TL;DR: In this paper, an animal hair solvent and the preparation method and use of keratin solution was described. The use is to use the Keratin solution as textile finishing liquor or the main functional ingredient of the textile finishing liquid.
Abstract: The invention discloses an animal hair solvent and the preparation method and use of keratin solution. The solvent is characterized in that tris(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine hydrochloride, tris(2-cyanoethyl)phosphine or trisphosphine is used as a main ingredient and is mixed with 1 to 8 percent of assistant which may be at least one of mercaptoacetic acid, mercaptoethanol, sodium hydrogensulfite, potassium bisulfate, sodium sulfite, potassium sulfite, sodium hypophosphite, ethanol, methanol and urea. The preparation method adopts the following processes: 1, preparing animal hair solution by usingthe animal hair solvent of the invention; 2, dissolving animal hair in the solution to prepare keratin solution; and 3, adding a proper amount of acid to perform the post-treatment of the keratin solution. The use is to use the keratin solution as textile finishing liquor or the main functional ingredient of the textile finishing liquor.
