TL;DR: The Gamma Remote Sensing (GRS) processor as mentioned in this paper is a modular software package written in the widely supported ANSI-C language for the processing of both airborne and spaceborne sensors.
Abstract: Based on the previous work of C. Werner and U. Wegmuller in the frame of their research at the University of Zurich and Jet Propulsion Laboratory, as well as up to date algorithms published in the literature Gamma Remote Sensing developed its advanced SAR processing and interferometry software packages. The SAR processor and the interferometry software are modular software packages written in the widely supported ANSI-C language. The well documented structured code and stepwise processing approach permit users to experiment with new algorithms and applications. Data of both airborne and spaceborne sensors including ERS, JERS-1, SIR-C, and RADARSAT StripMap mode, and the Dornier DOSAR have been successfully processed interferometrically. The processor is currently being certified by ESA for ERS processing and RSI for RADARSAT. The overall design of the software, algorithms used, special features implemented, typical sequences for processing with the Modular SAR Processor (MSP) and the Interferometric SAR Processor (ISP), as well as a few examples for results will be presented.

TL;DR: The software package IPO (‘Isotopologue Parameter Optimization’) was successfully applied to data derived from liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry from three studies with different sample types and different chromatographic methods and devices and the potential of IPO to increase the reliability of metabolomics data was shown.
Abstract: Background Untargeted metabolomics generates a huge amount of data. Software packages for automated data processing are crucial to successfully process these data. A variety of such software packages exist, but the outcome of data processing strongly depends on algorithm parameter settings. If they are not carefully chosen, suboptimal parameter settings can easily lead to biased results. Therefore, parameter settings also require optimization. Several parameter optimization approaches have already been proposed, but a software package for parameter optimization which is free of intricate experimental labeling steps, fast and widely applicable is still missing.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system and method for providing an automated software update to a programmer or equivalent device used in implantable medical device system is disclosed, where the programmer comprises a remote instrument configuration database containing current instrument configuration information.
Abstract: A system and method for providing an automated software update to a programmer or equivalent device used in implantable medical device system is disclosed. The programmer comprises a remote instrument configuration database containing current instrument configuration information. The programmer user interface initiates an interface to a centralized globally accessible remote expert data center located at a distal location relative to the programmer. The remote expert data center includes an instrument configuration database containing configuration data for the programmer. The remote expert data center also includes a released software database containing software applications compatible with the programmer. Further, the remote expert data center contains a rule set database which identifies an approved software application for the programmer. A management component of the remote expert data center enables the transmission of the approved software application to the programmer.

TL;DR: The paper presents techniques for developing Generic Software Wrappers-protected, non-bypassable kernel-resident software extensions for augmenting security without modification of COTS source.
Abstract: Numerous techniques exist to augment the security functionality of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications and operating systems, making them more suitable for use in mission-critical systems. Although individually useful, as a group these techniques present difficulties to system developers because they are not based on a common framework which might simplify integration and promote portability and reuse. The paper presents techniques for developing Generic Software Wrappers-protected, non-bypassable kernel-resident software extensions for augmenting security without modification of COTS source. We describe the key elements of our work: our high-level Wrapper Definition Language (WDL), and our framework for configuring, activating, and managing wrappers. We also discuss code reuse, automatic management of extensions, a framework for system-building through composition, platform-independence, and our experiences with our Solaris and FreeBSD prototypes.
