TL;DR: A decision-making model for adopting a cloud computing system is analyzed in a hierarchical structure of decision areas: technology, organization, and environment as well as seven factors and 23 attributes based on underlying decision factors of cloud computing adoption by AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and Delphi analysis.
Abstract: The use of big data, artificial intelligence, and new information and communication technologies has led to sustainable developments and improved business competitiveness. Until recently cloud services were classified as having special system requirements for a business organization, and was represented by different cloud computing architecture layers like infrastructure, platform, or software as a service. However, as the environment of IT services undergoes successive changes, companies have been required to reconsider their business models and consider adopting a cloud computing system, which can bring on business achievements and development. Regarding a decision-making model for adopting a cloud computing system, this paper analyzes critical variables in a hierarchical structure of decision areas: technology, organization, and environment, as well as seven factors and 23 attributes based on underlying decision factors of cloud computing adoption by AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and Delphi analysis. Furthermore, this research explores a comparative analysis between demanders and providers of cloud computing adoption. Resultantly, this study suggests several important factors for adopting a cloud computing system: top management support, competitive pressure, and compatibility. From the demander side, the high priority factor was compatibility and competitive pressure; in contrast, related advantage and top management support were regarded as priority factors for providers to service their cloud computing systems.

TL;DR: A literature review and three exploratory case studies of leading software vendors are used to evaluate possible implications of Software-as-a-Service on business models and show an impact on all business model building blocks.
Abstract: The number of software vendors offering ‘Software-as-a-Service’ has been increasing in recent years. In the Software-as-a-Service model software is operated by the software vendor and delivered to the customer as a service. Existing business models and industry structures are challenged by the changes to the deployment and pricing model compared to traditional software. However, the full implications on the way companies create, deliver and capture value are not yet sufficiently analyzed. Current research is scattered on specific aspects, only a few studies provide a more holistic view of the impact from a business model perspective. For vendors it is, however, crucial to be aware of the potentially far reaching consequences of Software-as-a-Service. Therefore, a literature review and three exploratory case studies of leading software vendors are used to evaluate possible implications of Software-as-a-Service on business models. The results show an impact on all business model building blocks and highlight in particular the often less articulated impact on key activities, customer relationship and key partnerships for leading software vendors and show related challenges, for example, with regard to the integration of development and operations processes. The observed implications demonstrate the disruptive character of the concept and identify future research requirements.

TL;DR: This paper proposes a service oriented component framework which addresses challenges by automatically reifying available services in a distributed pervasive environment and has implemented and validated the framework by using several real applications developed within collaborative projects.
Abstract: The recent evolution of mobile smart devices and their convergence with pervasive computing and software as a service raises new challenges. Developers of applications targeted to these environments have to face at least three major challenges: dynamicity, heterogeneity, and distribution. In this paper, we propose a service oriented component framework which addresses these challenges by automatically reifying available services in a distributed pervasive environment. Therefore, the only thing developers have to focus on is writing the business code. We have implemented and validated our framework by using several real applications developed within collaborative projects (including ITEA ANSO project).

TL;DR: SD is shown to be a viable tool to manage information complexity using cloud computing for performance improvement in construction and how the use of SD can improve the management of complexity of information flow, leading to improved performance for SMEs is determined.
Abstract: The increase in e-commerce, the digitisation of design data and the interchange and sharing of information have made the construction sector more reliant upon IT infrastructure and systems. The design and production process is complex, dynamic, interconnected and dependent upon greater information mobility, requiring seamless exchange of data and information in real time. Small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in particular, specialty contractors, can utilise cost-effective collaboration technologies, such as cloud computing using software as a service, to help in the effective transfer of information and data. The system dynamics (SD) approach gives a better understanding of the dynamics of complex systems. SD methodology is used as a modelling and analysis tool to understand and identify the key drivers in the absorption of cloud computing for SMEs. The aim is to determine how the use of SD can improve the management of complexity of information flow, leading to improved performance for SMEs. SD is...

TL;DR: Understanding the importance of cloud computing as new, green and cheap technology is contributed to fixing and minimizing the existing problems and challenges in E-government so that the developed and developing countries need to achieve E- government based on cloud computing.
Abstract: Over the past years, many businesses, government and individuals have been started to adopt the internet and web-based technologies in their works to take benefits of costs reduction and better utilization of existing resources. The cloud computing is a new way of computing which aims to provide better communication style and storage resources in a safe environment via the internet platform. The E-governments around the world are facing the continued budget challenges and increasing in the size of their computational data so that they need to find ways to deliver their services to citizens as economically as possible without compromising the achievement of desired outcomes. Considering E-government is one of the sectors that is trying to provide services via the internet so the cloud computing can be a suitable model for implementing E-government architecture to improve E-government efficiency and user satisfaction. In this paper, the adoption of cloud computing strategy in implementing E-government services has been studied by focusing on the relationship between E-government and cloud computing by listing the benefits of creation E-government based on cloud computing. Finally in this paper, the challenges faced the implementation of cloud computing for E-government are discussed in details. As a result from understanding the importance of cloud computing as new, green and cheap technology is contributed to fixing and minimizing the existing problems and challenges in E-government so that the developed and developing countries need to achieve E-government based on cloud computing.
