TL;DR: An electrohydraulic proportional actuator for converting an electrical input signal to proportional mechanical output is described in this article. But the actuator does not have the ability to control the response function of an engine.
Abstract: An electrohydraulic proportional actuator for converting an electrical input signal to proportional mechanical output. Fluid power may be derived from pressurized fuel or lubricating oil of an associated engine. The actuator may be used to drive any engine function requiring modulated control. The mechanical output is proportional to the electrical input. The actuator includes mechanical feedback to linearize the response function, thus eliminating the need for closed loop operation of the system in which the actuator is used. Both linear and rotary actuators are disclosed in various embodiments. Each type is capable of operation with either a proportional solenoid and valve or a force rebalance solenoid and valve.

TL;DR: In this paper, an electric lock and a surveillant control device with an electric source circuit are electrically connected by two wires, and a door switch is provided responsive to the operation of the door and current checking means, which means detects the circuit current for exercising a supervision over the states of opening or closing the door.
Abstract: An electric lock (61) and a surveillant control device (60) with an electric source circuit (15) are electrically connected by two wires (12). After actuation of a solenoid (4) in the electric lock (61), the current passed through the surveillant control device (60) decreases by the changing-over of switch (6) linked with the actuation of the solenoid. The electric source circuit (15) is adapted to have so low impedance as to supply current to the electric lock (61) only during on- or off-operation of the lock, but then it has usually so high impedance as to supply the check current with alternately converting polarities to the electric lock (61). In the wire circuit there are provided a door switch (10) responsive to the operation of the door and current checking means, which means detects the circuit current for exercising a supervision over the states of opening or closing the door and turning on or off the lock.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of cross-sectional area of iron core and ampere turn on the static electromagnetic characteristics have been studied through numerical simulation method, and the results show that the four parameters have great effects on the dynamic response characteristics of solenoid valve.

03 Apr 2004TL;DR: In this article, a method for the control of a solenoid valve which is closed in the volt-free state, especially a fuel control valve in the fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine, is presented.
Abstract: The method for the control of a solenoid valve which is closed in the volt-free state, especially a fuel control valve in the fuel supply system of an internal combustion engine, entails opening the solenoid through a pull-in voltage and keeping it in the open position by hold-in voltage. The pull-in voltage and/or the hold-in voltage are determined in dependence upon the operating values of the high pressure fuel pump and/or of the engine. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a device for the control of a solenoid valve in especially a motor vehicle by application of the aforesaid control method; and (B) a computer programme product with a programme code to carry out the proposed control method.
