TL;DR: In this paper, an open-flat coil (OFC) was used for high resolution measurements of magnetic field penetration depth into thin films or plate-like high-Tc superconductors by replacing a solenoid testing coil by an OFC driven by a tunnel diode oscillator of low power and a highly stable frequency.
Abstract: The “LC resonator” method was greatly improved for high resolution measurements of magnetic-field penetration depth, λ, of radio frequency into thin films or plate-like high-Tc superconductors by replacing a solenoid testing coil by an open-flat coil (OFC) driven by a tunnel diode oscillator of a low power and a highly stable frequency The assembled OFC magnetometer showed new technical advantages such as simplicity, convenience, and high resolution of Δλ∼1–3 A (Δλ/λ∼10−6), ability of reliable operation in wide ranges of temperature (42–300 K) and magnetic field (up to 12 T), etc This enables us to use it for studying peculiarities of the vortex dynamics with weak signal in small sample volume high-Tc cuprates As a first test of the assembled 23 MHz measuring setup, the temperature dependence of the upper critical field, HC2(T), is determined from the magnetic transition curves at different temperatures for Y1Ba2Cu3O7−δ thin-film ring The HC2(T) data obey the formula: [1−(T/Tc)2]β with β=122±003 at

TL;DR: In this article, a duty solenoid valve control apparatus is presented, which consists of a duty signal generating device, an overexcitation signal generator, and a holding signal generator.
Abstract: A duty solenoid valve control apparatus and a duty solenoid valve control method, in which a plurality of duty solenoid valves different in operation from each other are controlled without increase of the program capacity of a computer. The apparatus comprises a duty signal generating device for generating a duty signal corresponding to a time ratio, an overexcitation signal generating device for generating an overexcitation signal to overexcite a solenoid coil, a holding signal generating device for generating a holding signal to hold a duty solenoid valve, and a signal synthesizing device for synthesizing the duty signal, the overexcitation signal and the holding signal into a drive signal for driving the solenoid coil.

TL;DR: This paper presents a novel bilateral control scheme for pneumatic teleoperation systems that are actuated by low-cost solenoid valves that is incorporated into a two-channel, bilateral teleoperation architecture involving position-position, force-force, or force-position schemes.
Abstract: This paper presents a novel bilateral control scheme for pneumatic teleoperation systems that are actuated by low-cost solenoid valves. A sliding mode control is incorporated into a two-channel, bilateral teleoperation architecture involving position-position, force-force, or force-position schemes. An analysis of stability and transparency of the closed-loop teleoperation system is carried out. The proposed control design is verified on a single-degree-of-freedom pneumatic teleoperation system with four on/off solenoid valves. Moreover, simulation results demonstrate high accuracies in terms of position and force tracking in the teleoperation system.

TL;DR: In this paper, the fabrication and characterization of various 3D solenoid inductors using a glass core substrate was demonstrated, with inductance of 1.8-4.5nH with Q ~ 60 at 1GHz.
Abstract: In this paper, we demonstrate the fabrication and characterization of various 3D solenoid inductors using a glass core substrate. Solenoid inductors were fabricated in glass by drilling through holes in glass and semi-additive copper plating for metallization. This topology is compared to similar solenoid structures in terms of Q-factor performance and inductance density. Inductances of 1.8-4.5nH with Q ~ 60 at 1GHz were demonstrated.

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the external magnetic field of a very long but finite solenoid of length L must be a decreasing function of L. The model of infinite solenoids was used to teach simple lessons about static magnetic fields, and the study of this external field provides interesting and surprisingly simple illustrations of techniques for analyzing magnetic fields.
Abstract: Simple lessons about static magnetic fields are often taught with the model of an “infinite” solenoid, outside of which the fields vanish. Just outside a very long but finite solenoid of length L, the field must be a decreasing function of L. We show that this external field is approximately uniform and decreases as L−2. Furthermore, we show that the study of this external field provides interesting and surprisingly simple illustrations of techniques for analyzing magnetic fields.Simple lessons about static magnetic fields are often taught with the model of an “infinite” solenoid, outside of which the fields vanish.
