TL;DR: In this paper, a free floating piston located in the chamber is moved along the length of the chamber with a solenoid to pump blood into and out of opposite ends of the cylinder.
Abstract: A pump for moving a fluid, as blood, having a body and end members forming a cylindrical chamber. A free floating piston located in the chamber is moved along the length of the chamber with a solenoid to pump blood into and out of opposite ends of the chamber. The end members containing inlet and outlet valves and sleeves are adapted to attach to veins or tubes to carry the blood to and from the pump. When electrical power is applied to the solenoid, a magnetic force operates to move the piston in the chamber, thereby pumping blood into and out of the chamber through the valves in the opposite end members.

TL;DR: In this article, an original relativistic backward tube (BWT) for a 38 GHz range is developed and tested, which is capable of generating stable pulses of ∼250 ps duration and a peak power of ∼ 250 MW in trains with a length of up to 1 s at a repetition rate of 1.5 kHz.
Abstract: An original relativistic backward tube (BWT) for a 38 GHz range is developed and tested. The BWT is capable of generating stable pulses of ∼250 ps duration and a peak power of ∼250 MW in trains with a length of up to 1 s at a repetition rate of 1–3.5 kHz. The BWT design implements an inhomogeneous slow-wave structure of increased cross section with a band reflector. A pulsed electron beam (∼270 keV, ∼2 kA, 0.9 ns) was injected by a high-current accelerator based on a high-voltage generator with an inductive energy store, a semiconductor current interrupter, and a pulse-shaping hydrogen-filled discharge gap. A focusing magnetic field of 2 T was generated by a cooled pulsed solenoid power-supplied from a special stabilized current source.

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-stage pressure regulator with a servo regulator valve closure element and a solenoid armature is presented, which is selectively positionable by a selector knob to obtain higher or lower regulator spring force.
Abstract: A convertible two-stage pressure regulator in which a main valve regulates fluid flow between an inlet and outlet in response to a control pressure produced by a servo regulator valve, the control pressure depending on outlet pressure and the force provided by a regulator spring to a diaphragm carrying a servo regulator valve closure element Compression of the regulator spring is controlled by a solenoid armature in a plunger assembly which is selectively positionable by a selector knob to obtain higher or lower regulator spring force Adjustable stops provide for individual adjustment of low and high outlet pressures for each of two pressure ranges Substantially identical air gaps in the magnetic circuit of the solenoid are provided for both pressure ranges by a magnetic pole piece in the plunger assembly which extends beyond the solenoid coil in one direction and a solenoid armature which extends beyond the solenoid coil in the opposite direction

TL;DR: In this paper, a solenoid valve with a push rod and a piston is presented, and the solenoids and the valve member are connected to one another before being mounted in the casing such that the valve and the push rod can be movable relative to each other in a direction perpendicular to the central axis.
Abstract: A solenoid valve has a solenoid including a push rod. The solenoid has a central axis along which the push rod is displaceable. A valve member with a piston is provided, and the valve member and solenoid are enclosed in a casing. The solenoid and the valve member are connected to one another before being mounted in the casing such that the solenoid and the valve member are movable relative to one another in a direction perpendicular to the central axis.

TL;DR: In this paper, a high-sensitivity solenoid probe coil is fabricated by a building block approach where it mainly consists of coil substrates having superconducting thin film coils made from superconducted thin film thereon, and side holding plates and a wiring substrate with line pattern of superconductING thin films which are both perpendicular to the coil substrate.
Abstract: An NMR probe having a high-sensitivity solenoid probe coil for receiving free induction decay (FID) signals in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, and an NMR spectrometer which incorporates this probe. The solenoid probe coil is fabricated by a building block approach where it mainly consists of coil substrates having superconducting thin film coils made from superconducting thin film thereon, and side holding plates and a wiring substrate with line pattern of superconducting thin films which are both perpendicular to the coil substrates. The superconducting thin film coils are connected with the line patterns of superconducting thin films by capacitive coupling to make the solenoid coil configuration and solenoid probe coil of superconducting material.
