Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The lipolytic activity reached up to 120,000 UA/g of dry matter, considerably higher than those previously reported in literature for solid-state fermentation and highlight the possibility to work with the solid wastes as effective biocatalysts.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: This study aimed to enhance the production and ester selectivity evaluating three operational strategies at three scales (0.5, 4.5 and 22 L) using non-sterilized residues to obtain aroma compounds.

TL;DR: In a solid state fermentation system (SSM), even in the presence of high levels of glucose, the production of a-amylase was 4-fold greater than that in a submerged system.

TL;DR: This compendium throws light on the developments in the field of fermentation of lipases and their scale up and interests have been shown on solid-state fermentation oflipases in order to facilitate the use of low cost agricultural wastes as substrates.
Abstract: Lipases are the most versatile industrial enzymes and are known to bring about a range of bioconversion reactions. This compendium throws light on the developments in the field of fermentation of lipases and their scale up. Recently, interests have been shown on solid-state fermentation of lipases in order to facilitate the use of low cost agricultural wastes as substrates. Whole cell immobilization processes for lipase production have been applied directly to enhance their biocatalytic activity and to obtain prolong use.

TL;DR: In this article, a two-phase system operated using a fed-batch procedure carried out at constant substrate concentration was used to produce C 5 -C 9 methyl ketones from the corresponding C 6 -C 10 fatty acids by spores of Penicillium roquefortii.
