Abstract: The paper describes a software library developed in C language for the automated analysis of the fringe patterns which are obtained by the interferometric techniques most frequently employed in experimental mechanics. Since the images acquired are generally affected by highfrequency noise (particularly significant in the case of speckle interferometry), it has been necessary to develop special procedures for determining peak location using the minimum amount of local information.
