TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a system for correcting phase errors in an information signal which has been transmitted, which consists of circuitry for generating a correction signal and for combining the correction signal with the information signal to produce a corrected information signal.
Abstract: A user equipment which receives a CDMA communication signal that is wirelessly transmitted includes a system for correcting phase errors in an information signal which has been transmitted. The correction system comprises circuitry for generating a correction signal and for combining the correction signal with the information signal to produce a corrected information signal. An analyzer analyzes the phase of the corrected information signal and generates an error signal based on the deviation of the analyzed phase from a reference phase. A bandwidth controller recursively adjusts the phase of the corrected information signal such that the phase of said corrected information signal is substantially equal to said reference phase. The bandwidth controller selects a bandwidth within an adjustable range based on the error signal, estimates an offset based on the error signal, and modifies the correction signal using the offset.

TL;DR: In this paper, a programmable voltage source operates to set the analog output to a selected level, and a variable gain amplifier is set by the control circuit to cause the analog signal to correspond to the preset value.
Abstract: In a blood analyzer, improved calibration is provided. First and second photodetectors sense energy supplied directly from a source and from the source through a sample respectively. A log ratio amplifier provides an analog output indicative to the log of the ratio of the outputs of the photodetectors to a control circuit. When a blank sample is measured, a programmable voltage source operates to set the analog output to a selected level. A reference sample having optical density corresponding to a preset value is next measured, and a variable gain amplifier is set by the control circuit to cause the analog signal to correspond to the preset value.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present improved systems and methods for verifying accurate test performance of monitoring systems, particularly for point-of-care service, which are provided as kits with instructions for use.
Abstract: The present invention provides improved systems and methods for verifying accurate test performance of monitoring systems, particularly for point-of-care service. Such monitoring systems typically include a test element containing the test reagent(s), and an electronic analyzer device. A blood or other patient sample is applied to the test element, which is introduced to the analyzer. As the reaction proceeds, the analyzer stores the data and outputs the testing result. Accuracy in the result is dependent upon proper functioning of both the test element and the analyzer. The systems of the present invention provide indicators to evaluate the integrity of the test elements and a verification device to evaluate the performance of the analyzer. Such systems may be provided as kits with instructions for use.

TL;DR: In this paper, a combined blood constituent and prothrombin time analyzer is provided in which a plurality of removable and replaceable circuit modules are utilized to program the analyzer for appropriate light wavelength, reagent blank offset, scale factors and calibration parameters and which is self referencing to predetermined standards such that the results derived are all normalized for readout on a common digital readout device.
Abstract: A combined blood constituent and prothrombin time analyzer is provided in which a plurality of removable and replaceable circuit modules are utilized to program the analyzer for appropriate light wavelength, reagent blank offset, scale factors and calibration parameters and which is self referencing to predetermined standards such that the results derived are all normalized for readout on a common digital readout device. The entire analyzer is contained in a compact console which includes controlled incubated storage for blood test samples together with insertion cavities for both constituent concentration and prothrombin time analysis. The results of each analysis are so normalized by the blood analyzer that a common digital counter can be used to convert these results to a numerical readout presentable on a common readout device and said results are substantially instantaneously displayed subsequent to initiation of any given test in the analyzer.
