TL;DR: In this article, the performance of a high sensitivity secondary ion mass spectrometer is described, which is used for studies of gas surface interactions and operates under ultrahigh vacuum conditions with a mass analyzed primary beam of low energy.
Abstract: The performance of a high‐sensitivity secondary ion mass spectrometer is described. The spectrometer is used for studies of gas–surface interactions and operates under ultrahigh vacuum conditions with a mass‐analyzed primary beam of low energy. The secondary ion detection system incorporates a retardation/acceleration energy analyzer with a large acceptance angle and a central stop which improves the signal/noise ratio. The analyzer emittance was designed to match the acceptance of a quadrupole mass filter. A calibration procedure is used to correct for the velocity discrimination of the quadrupole mass analyzer. Some applications to SIMS and to electron‐induced desorption are illustrated.

TL;DR: In this article, a twenty channel analyzer with a resolving power of 3 μs is described, whose chief feature is that pulse selection is accomplished by a single discriminator for each channel whose threshold is set at a height corresponding to the upper boundary of the channel and the channel width is determined by suitably shaping the incoming pulses.

TL;DR: In this paper, a spectrum analyzer is combined with the VNA in a housing measuring approximately 4 pounds with the spectrum analyzers portion operating from slightly above DC to above 3.0 GHz.
Abstract: A spectrum analyzer is combined with the VNA in a housing measuring approximately 4 pounds with the spectrum analyzer portion operating from slightly above DC to above 3.0 GHz. The components for the spectrum analyzer are provided on a separate printed circuit board from the two printed circuit boards for the display and VNA components in the housing. The design of components for the printed circuit board enable a significant reduction of size from a typical spectrum analyzer which weighs 40 pounds or more and measures on the order of 2 feet by 3 feet by 0.5 feet.

TL;DR: It is shown that this system can be used as a vector beam polarization state spectrum analyzer, where both the topological charge and the state of polarization of an input vector beam can be simultaneously determined in a single experiment.
Abstract: We present a proof of concept for a vector beam polarization state spectrum analyzer based on the combination of a polarization diffraction grating (PDG) and an encoded harmonic q-plate grating (QPG) As a result, a two-dimensional polarization diffraction grating is formed that generates six different q-plate channels with topological charges from -3 to +3 in the horizontal direction, and each is split in the vertical direction into the six polarization channels at the cardinal points of the corresponding higher-order Poincare sphere Consequently, 36 different channels are generated in parallel This special polarization diffractive element is experimentally demonstrated using a single phase-only spatial light modulator in a reflective optical architecture Finally, we show that this system can be used as a vector beam polarization state spectrum analyzer, where both the topological charge and the state of polarization of an input vector beam can be simultaneously determined in a single experiment We expect that these results would be useful for applications in optical communications
