TL;DR: In this article, the impact of China's exchange rate changes on exports of competitor countries in third markets was investigated. And they found robust evidence of a statistically and quantitatively significant spillover effect.
Abstract: This paper estimates the impact of China’s exchange rate changes on exports of competitor countries in third markets, which we call the “spillover effect.” We use recent theory to develop an identification strategy in which competition between China and its developing country competitors in specific products and destinations plays a key role. We exploit the variation—afforded by disaggregated trade data—across exporters, importers, product, and time to estimate this spillover effect. We find robust evidence of a statistically and quantitatively significant spillover effect. Our estimates suggest that, on average, a 10 percent appreciation of China’s real exchange rate boosts a developing country’s exports of a typical 4-digit Harmonized System (HS) product category to third markets by about 1.5 to 2 percent. The magnitude of the spillover effect varies systematically with product characteristics as implied by theory.

TL;DR: Li et al. as mentioned in this paper applied the difference-in-differences method to explore the local and spillover impact of the carbon emissions trading policy (2011) on China's carbon emissions and air quality, based on city-level data.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the effect of patent citations on Tobin's Q in a variety of environments and examined whether the parameters are affected by stage of a company in the value chain.
Abstract: Although prior research has examined the effect of patent citations on Tobin's Q in a variety of environments, in this study we examine whether the parameters are affected by stage of a company in the value chain. Unlike other national semiconductor firms, Taiwanese semiconductor firms typically specialize in one of the value-added activities, namely, either design or manufacturing or packaging and testing. Our finding is that the effect of patent citation on Tobin's Q is accentuated when the firm is at the front end of the value chain and diminishes as we proceed to the back end. This finding is novel in the literature. We also find that frequency of patent citations and R&D spillover are positive and significant in relation to Tobin's Q. In addition, the effect of R&D spillover on Tobin's Q is more pronounced for firms in the design sector relative to other sectors.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors examined the interdependence between green bonds and financial markets in the time-frequency domain by utilizing the multivariate wavelet approach and dynamic connectedness through combining Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD) with Diebold and Yilmaz (2012) spillover framework.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider a spillover effect among housing submarkets within a metropolitan city and show that house price diffusion between regional cities can be traced to the availability of housing sub-markets.
Abstract: Despite numerous studies investigating house price diffusion between regional cities, few have considered a spillover effect among housing submarkets within a metropolitan city. This study ...
