Abstract: High efficiency and compact design of the desulfurization technology is necessary to meet the strict emission requirement of the marine environment. A rotating packed bed (RPB), having the high mass transfer efficiency and small size, is an excellent choice for SO2 removal from the flue gas in ships or warships. In this work, SO2 removal in a laboratory and a pilot RPB with sodium sulfite solution was investigated. Experimental results show that the SO2 concentration at the gas outlet of the RPB can meet the emission requirement and it has no obvious scale up effect. A correlation of the mass transfer coefficient (Kya) was proposed and the predicted Kya agrees with the experimental data with a deviation within ±12%. Compared with the spray tower, the RPB has a higher SO2 removal efficiency and a quarter volume, which displays a bright future for the offshore application of SO2 removal.

Abstract: This paper presents an enhancement method to improve the desulfurization performance of wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD) by adding a flow pattern controlling (FPC) device in the spraying tower. The FPC device is characterized by a modular design and composed of FPC units that are fixed under the spraying layers of the desulfurization tower. Two kinds of FPC units, each with a different scale, are designed (i.e., unit A and unit B). The effects of the FPC unit and operational parameters on the desulfurization process are determined by experimentation. The experiments show that the FPC unit significantly improves the desulfurization performance compared to the common spraying column without an aperture plate. The flow regime significantly changes and large amounts of bubbles develop above the perforated plate in the FPC unit, which is beneficial to enhance gas–liquid mass transfer. Abstract: The utility model provides a waste incineration system. The garbage incinerator comprises a primary combustion chamber for primary incineration of garbage, wherein a flue gas outlet of the primary combustion chamber is communicated with a flue gas inlet of the secondary combustion chamber through a first flue, a flue gas outlet of the secondary combustion chamber is connected with a spray tower used for flue gas spray treatment through a second flue, and a top end outlet of the spray tower is connected with a flue gas purification system through a third flue. The garbage incineration temperature can be effectively controlled, combustible gas generated by incineration can be effectively utilized, meanwhile, the tail gas combustion temperature and the smoke cooling speed are controlled to decompose dioxin and prevent dioxin from being synthesized again, and therefore the emission standard requirement after garbage treatment is met. The method is high in intelligent degree, advanced, highin working efficiency, safe, reliable, energy-saving and environment-friendly.

Abstract: The invention relates to a spray tower with an automatic cleaning function based on the internet of things. The tower comprises a main tower body, a sedimentation pool, an air inlet, an air outlet, afilling layer, a spraying layer and a demisting layer and further comprises a cleaning mechanism and a decontamination mechanism. The cleaning mechanism comprises a vibration component and a washing component, and the decontamination mechanism comprises a mobile component and a stirring component. According to the spray tower with the automatic cleaning function based on the internet of things, solid particulate matter and remaining liquid drops in the demisting layer can be shaken off through the cleaning mechanism, the situation can be avoided that contaminants on a baffle in the demisting layer block the demisting layer, the contaminants on the baffle in the demisting layer are flushed away by the water flow, and the cleaning effect is improved; sediment in the sedimentation pool can bestirred through the decontamination mechanism and can be sufficiently mixed with pool water, so that the sediment is driven to be discharged, the decontamination effect is achieved, and compared witha manual cleaning mode, the spray tower is convenient and efficient in cleaning, the working intensity of people is greatly lowered, and the practicability of the spray tower is improved.

Abstract: Conventional spray towers emit absorbent droplets that are nonuniform in size and spatial distribution; as a result, capture efficiency is degraded. This paper presents the design and evaluation of a novel spray tower for capturing CO2 with much increased capture efficiency. The tower uses a multinozzle plate, and can spray sorbent drops of almost the same size vertically and quite uniformly across the flow cross section. Uniform size and spatial distribution of droplets greatly increased the capture efficiency η, although much bigger drops were used, achieving η ∼ 95%, which has rarely been reported to date for CO2 capture by a spray tower. Experimental results were compared with the predictions by numerical simulations in excellent agreement. The new spray tower has a number of strong points that are favorable for scaling up of diameter and length.

Abstract: The invention discloses a boiler smoke discharging condensed water heat-carrying circulation based three incorporated tower heat exchange method and device and belongs to the technical field of exhaust air heat recovery and boiler heating. By adopting a spray tower heat exchange structure with three incorporated towers, the device is divided into an air heating and humidification region, a smoke high-temperature heat exchange region and a smoke low-temperature heat exchange region from bottom to top. Smoke enters the high-temperature heat exchange region from the middle part of the tower, performs heat exchange with high-temperature waste heat circulation water, then rises to the low-temperature heat exchange region and is exhausted from the tower top after performing heat exchange with low-temperature waste heat circulation water; the low-temperature waste heat circulation water is sprayed from a low-temperature spraying device for heat exchange, is supplied to an air heating and humidification section for spraying heat exchange after passing through a water-air separator and heats inlet air of a boiler or directly descends to the high-temperature heat exchange region; and the high-temperature waste heat circulation water is sent into the high-temperature heat exchange region from a high-temperature spraying device for heat exchange and is supplied outside and heats heating net water after gathering in a pool at the tower bottom. A set of system can realize a main heat exchange process required for smoke recovery and heating, so that the system flow is greatly improved, the equipment amount and the occupying space are reduced, and investment and energy consumption are lowered.

Abstract: The invention discloses a tail gas photo-oxygen pyrolysis purifying method which comprises the following steps: 1) enabling an organic exhaust gas from a factory to enter a front-end spray tower, andfixing powder particulate matters in the organic exhaust gas in the spray liquid; 2) feeding the organic exhaust gas, after preliminary dust removal, into a photo-oxygen pyrolysis cabinet through an air pipe, for exhaust gas oxidation treatment; 3) during the treatment of the step 2), detecting, by an exhaust gas concentration detection sensor mounted at an entrance of the photo-oxygen pyrolysis cabinet, the exhaust gas concentration in real time, and feeding a signal back to a single chip control system, to control regular combination on/off of lamps in a high-energy ultraviolet lamp bank module and an ozone supply module; 4) feeding the treated gas, under the effect of an induced draft fan, into a dry flue gas comprehensive treatment tank to realize fixation of sulfur and nitrogen oxide,while feeding the gas below the discharge standard of the system into front-end cycle. The method disclosed by the invention can realize energy-saving and efficient operation of the whole system, prolongs the service life of the lamp bank module, improves the treatment effect of the organic exhaust gas, avoids the problem of secondary pollution caused by traditional wet processing, and realizes ultra-clean discharge.

Abstract: This desulfurization process involves removing sulfur oxides with seawater or alkaline aqueous solutions and then treating the effluent by aeration and pH adjustment before discharging it into the ocean. In the desulfurization system, the spray tower is the key equipment and the venturi tubes are the pretreatment device. The two stages of plates are designed to fully absorb sulfur oxides in exhaust gases. The spiral nozzles atomize and evenly spray the desulfurizers into the tower. This study experimentally investigated the effectiveness of this desulfurization process and the factors influencing it under laboratory conditions, with a diesel engine exhaust used to represent ship exhaust. The experimental results show that this process can effectively absorb the SO2 in the exhaust. When the exhaust flow rate was 25 m3/h and the desulfurizer flow rate was 4 L/min, the sulfur removal efficiency (SRE) reached 99.7%. The flow rate, alkalinity, and temperature of seawater were found to have significant effects on the SRE. Adjusting seawater flow rate (SWR) and alkalinity within certain ranges can substantially improve the SRE.

Abstract: This work presents an experimental evaluation of the removal efficiency of SO2 in a spray tower. The experiments were carried out in different conditions, varying gas velocity and using different sprays nozzles. The influence of the height of tower on the removal efficiency was evaluated through experiments inside spray tower. In this study was used two sets of five nozzles, with diameter of orifice of 2.4 and 3.2 mm, and only one nozzle with diameter of orifice of 5.6 mm. The results showed the influence of the gas velocity and L/G ratio in the removal efficiency, the influence of the gas velocity on the volumetric gas side mass transfer coefficient and the influence of the height of the tower in the removal efficiency.

Through the drying method combining spray drying with cyclone drying, high-activity potassium fluoride is firstly prepared through a spray drying method, most of water of materials is removed, the materials are separated from waste gas after being dehydrated to certain water content, and the cyclone dryer which adopts fresh hot air with a relatively low temperature is adopted to further dry the materials to reach required water content. According to the multi-stage drying method and device disclosed by the invention, spray drying and cyclone drying are combined for use, so that heat and power energy consumption can be greatly reduced; and moreover, the equipment size is small, a needed site is small, the cost is remarkably reduced, the material drying effect is better and the yield is higher.

Due to the adoption of the intercepting mechanism in the internet-of-things-based spray tower with the good purification effect, an alkaline solution flowing down along the inner wall of the tower body is made to splash towards the center of the tower body, so that the efficiency of neutralizing acidic gases in waste gases by using spray water is increased, and the purification effect of the spray tower is improved; and due to the adoption of the charging mechanism, the pH value of the spray water in the second pipeline can be regulated, and the purification effect of the spray tower is further improved.

The device comprises a drying and pre-carbonizing system, a carbonization furnace, a secondary combustion chamber, a waste heat recovery system and a carbonization tail gas treatment system; and the drying and pre-carbonizing system comprises a spray tower, a feed liquid atomizer and a trap, the trap is respectively connected with the spray tower and the carbonization tail gas treatment system, the carbonization furnace is respectively connected with the spray tower and the trap, and the carbonization furnace, the secondary combustion chamber and the waste heat recovery system are sequentially connected with the carbonization tail gas treatment system. The treatment method comprises the following steps: the industrial waste liquid is atomized, and undergoes drying and decomposition pre-carbonizing, a collected powdery solid salt undergoes secondary carbonization through the carbonization furnace, the obtained product salt is discharged, and carbonization tail gas is treated through the secondary combustion chamber and the waste heat recovery system in order to resource reuse and harmless discharge. The device and method adopt stage carbonization of the waste liquid, and a corresponding furnace type is adopted according to the self characteristics of the waste liquid, so device sticking is avoided, the formed product salt meets industrial requirements, and harmless treatment of the tail gas is achieved.
