TL;DR: In this article , the authors designed an eight-wheeled mobile delivery robot that paves the way for curb and stair climbing, which has a double bogie mechanism; one is in front and the other is in the back.
Abstract: Delivery robots are becoming widespread all around the world recently. They are commonly used in America, Europe, and Asia. The primary purpose of these robots is the delivery service of goods such as food, parcels, groceries, etc. On the other hand, the developments bring the problems together. One of them is climbing the curbs and stairs. Six-wheeled delivery robots and most four-wheeled delivery robots have often faced problems climbing up and down these obstacles. According to some cases reflected in the press, those wheel numbers and mechanisms are not enough to easily pass over the curbs and stairs. Especially most six-wheeled robots have one bogie mechanism. The study aims to design an eight-wheeled mobile delivery robot that paves the way for curb & stair climbing. It has a double bogie mechanism; one is in front, and the other is in the back. Undoubtedly, the robot has a cargo compartment. The proposed delivery robot structure was designed in the Catia v5 3D CAD software and simulated in Gazebo 9 simulation software.

TL;DR: This research aims to develop the functionality for a robot to climb a set of stairs through the execution of scripts and animations created in an integrated development environment and developed the autonomous climbing algorithm to allow the robot to successfully climb aSet of stairs.
Abstract: Every day we witness greater advances in robotic technologies appearing around us. From the creation of military robots built to travel across hostile territories to the implementation of drones in a domestic setting by Amazon.com, these robots continue to become a more important part of our lives every day. Due to this fact, the importance of investigating new methods for ensuring the safe travel from one location to another continues to grow as well. In the spirit of researching these methods, this research aims to develop the functionality for a robot to climb a set of stairs. The robot being used for this project is manufactured by EZ Robot and is provided with its functionality through the execution of scripts and animations created in an integrated development environment. Using this development environment, we developed the autonomous climbing algorithm to allow the robot to successfully climb a set of stairs.

TL;DR: In this paper, a half-concealed crawler type speed-adjustable luggage case for automatic stair climbing is presented. And the purpose that the luggage case efficiently walks up and down the stairs in a time-saving and labor-saving manner is realized in the real sense.
Abstract: The invention discloses a half-concealed-crawler type speed-adjustable luggage case realizing automatic stair climbing and a control method for the half-concealed-crawler type speed-adjustable luggagecase realizing automatic stair climbing. The luggage case comprises a case body and a pull rod connected with the case body, wherein the case body comprises two parts including a main body and an upper cover, telescopic half-concealed crawler belts are arranged in the lower surface of the case body, the main body and the crawler belts are connected through telescopic rods arranged in the lower surface of the main body, a controller, a motor and a power supply are mounted on the bottom face of the main body, through the clockwise and counterclockwise rotation of the motor, the walking up and down stairs of the luggage case is controlled, and the speed that the luggage case walks up and down the stairs is regulated. The invention further discloses the control method for the half-concealed-crawler type speed-adjustable luggage case realizing automatic stair climbing, and the purpose that the luggage case efficiently walks up and down the stairs in a time-saving and labor-saving manner isrealized in the real sense. Compared with a common luggage case on the market, the luggage case provided by the invention has the advantages that the phenomenon that the efficiency for walking up anddown the stairs of the luggage case is influenced due to the different spans of the steps is avoided, the automatic control is realized, and the applicability is wide.
